Due to the tournament being postponed, we have a great raffle prize that needs to be used by Saturday. We have a WMMR basket with 4 tickets to the MMRBQ concert this Saturday along with WMMR tshirts, coozies and coffee mugs. We’re asking for a $25 donation and the basket is yours. First to respond through our DMs gets it.

I think we made the right call.
See you all on June 6th.

Due to the weather forecast for Saturday and the concern for the safety of our participants, we have decided to postpone the tournament until June 6th. Please attempt to reorganize your teams for then. If any teams cannot make it in June, we will make arrangements for pickup or delivery of your T shirts and refund of your registration fees less the cost of the shirts. Please make anyone you know aware of this schedule change and share this post. In Colleen’s name, we thank you and hope to see you on a bright and beautiful day in June.

It does not look good at all for Saturday. A final decision will be made by tomorrow and team captains will notified by email. We will also post on our socials. Rain date is June 6th. Thank you.

The Philadelphia department of parks and recs was out preparing the fields this week! Big thank you to Deputy Commissioner Susan Buck, Councilman Brian O’Neill and his aide, Henry Shain for once again stepping up and getting it done. It’s unfortunate that Burholme Park no longer has a baseball or softball program anymore. So the efforts of these city representatives to help ensure the safety of our players for our one day event shows their dedication to our success.
Thank you!

Just a couple of things regarding the tournament rules for our participants.
Competitive teams will only use the wood bats provided by us.
Secondly, as we try to make the games as fair as possible for the teams playing in the open bracket, we were attempting to have two females play for each team. That is proving difficult. So we’re asking those teams to remove one outfielder when any lady of the female variety steps to the plate to bat for the opposing team. The outfielder merely needs to walk to foul territory for that one at bat. Hopefully, this simplifies things and opens up the field for a better opportunity for the batter. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

The array of raffle prizes for our tournament is growing! A brand new, high falutin’ big brand name bicycle! Phillies tix! Eagles gear! And thanks to the Preston and Steve Show and their amazing promotion manager, Eric Simon, we will have a basket with WMMR swag (including a Pierre Robert mug that I desperately want) as well as FOUR, yes, FOUR tickets to the MMRBQ concert in May!

To our wonderful teams who will be participating in the tournament, a few notes.
We are strongly requesting that non-competitive, fun teams try and play two females in all games. We’re trying to level the playing field so as many teams as possible can have the opportunity to win and have fun.
Again, the competitive teams will use ONLY bats provided by us.
Competitive games will have umpires. This year we will use strike mats to lesson any disagreements on balls and strikes. A friendly reminder that umpires have final say and our support.
More notes to follow.
Thank you!
