Australia Day in Guangzhou! 🇦🇺

Thanks to Auscham and the CG for having The Guangzhou Scorpions at the massive event.
Great to showcase AFL, the club and footy and what we do in South China.
Thanks to all the friends, family and organisers who made it all possible.
It was incredible to see the smiles on all the young kids as we gave out over 40 Auskick Sherrins footballs.
Amazing effort by the team to promote the game and culture.

Towards the end of the school year, many schools are encouraged to allow students to participate in outdoor activities in lower socio-economic cities.

The Guangzhou Scoprions captain Whisker Lin along with Club President Michael Ouzas were invited to showcase sport, health and fitness to primary school children in the Huizhou countryside, Huizhou is a developing city 150km east of Guangzhou, most of the students come from hard economic and family backgrounds, so the opportunity for the students to experience a foreign sport, culture and be able to mingle was an incredible opportunity.

Taking the time out of there day jobs was without question, the passion these two have to represent AFL football and Australian culture is beyond question. With the students being able to practice there English, kick some weirdly oval shaped balls and laugh and chat all morning. It was an amazing experience for all that attended and is what we play this wonderful game for.

Footy brings people together, no matter where, when or at what age or level, such a privildged experience was had.

We thank the support team and the club board including the Huizhou school for there acceptance of our football club.

Warm winters in Guangzhou, perfect weather for pre-season training.
It's an honor to meet and interact with fellow people in sport, sharing stories, ideas and to compare similarities of how games technically work.
Shout out to .rami.an for bringing down China 🇨🇳 national curling player and special thanks to Guangzhou Loong Lions Coach for coming down and introducing his star players.
