Boosting your Immunity with Massage.
Whilst studying I have always wondered why is it that we feel so great when we step off the massage table. After becoming an industry specialist I now know that my clients are now stepping off the table with reduced stress levels, an increase in circulation and reduced muscle tension. Not only this but the movement also stimulates the lymphatic system and increase mobility and flexibility to each and every joint. Its no wonder people tend to 'Bounce' off the table. However recently researching I have come across a few studies that claim massage will boost you immunity. What can't the magical power of touch do?
In a study written by the Journal of complimentary and alternative medicine, the researchers state that 'massage recipients saw significant decreases in stress hormone and increases in the production of various cell that boost the immune-system response'.
So if your finding that daily juice of smoothie that your packing full of fruit and veggies still isn't preventing you from those nasty Colds & Flu's this season, Why not try something a little different?

Bean the Magical fruit!
Here is a quick and easy salad full of green bean goodness!
All you have to do is steam potato's, green beans, and asparagus.
Once this is done place them in ice water so they maintain their colour.
Mix together white wine vinegar, extra virgin olive oil, garlic and a tsp of honey and shake well in a jar.
Poor dressing over the top of your beans and spuds!
Loving this recipe ATM its so great to serve up with a protein filled steak and its super healthy too!
Back yard Burner!
Being a busy mum I have now found it harder than usual to treat myself with my daily exercise routine. There always seems to be washing to do, cleaning or a baby that needs entertaining.
The thing about exercise is it might not always be convenient. You may only need to work out for 30-45 minutes however getting kitted up, driving to the gym (most of the time in peak hour), completing your workout then driving home its most of the time around a 2 hour ordeal. But I find if I don't get out at all and make an excuse I'm more likely to do the same the next day too.
Just a word of warning. Tomorrow is going to be as busy as today, and the day after that, and possibly the day after that. All we have to do is find something that works for us. Something that has minimal excuses and minimal effort (besides the exercise itself).
So here is what I find works for me. Backyard body weighted exercises are great for general maintenance. There are an array of function whole body exercise to get you moving right in the comfort of your own yard. The best thing is they are great for toning you whole body.
Here is the Backyard Burner I did today in just 20 minutes! Whilst Eddie was asleep.
15x Squat Jumps
15x Push Ups
15x Tricep Dips.
15x Jump Lunges
40x Mountain Climbers
40x Ab Bicycle
15x Leg Lowers
10x Burpees
Repeat me 3 times and feel the burn! :)
5 Reasons Why EveryBODY needs a Massage!
1.Any massage that promotes relaxation in any client can help relieve muscular pain and stiffness.
2.Massage increases the amount of oxygen that reaches the healing tissues that may be causing the source of your pain and promotes nutrients to the source of the injury allowing a faster recovery period.
3.Hardened and shortened muscles constantly pull on your joints causing dysfunction with every day movement. Therapeutic massage is the best treatment to keep your body functionally moving in the best possible way.
4.Theraputic massage reduces the amounts of stress that we may build up over time. its a great tool to unwind with whether your problems stem from a physiological or phycological place.
5.Theraputic massage raises your energy levels and leads to an enhanced level of wellbeing.
We all need to be aware that massage is not just a LUXURY these days it moves beyond that becoming a necessity to help people with a diverse range of problems feel and be more energised and mobile in everyday life.
