Register your Team by January 1st for Blast Off Draw!

Just a post for clarification

registration process has been set up now for roughly the past 4 years to focus on equality for all our anglers regardless of their financial situation. Priority registration for teams to get an early start number being available for teams that could afford to pay up to $2500 8 months early (specially before Christmas) felt wrong and was removed. We brought in the top 5 rule as an award for teams that finish in the top 5 TOY standing to get those first 5 spots as an incentive to finish well. After the top 5, ALL teams that registered via full payment or using the membership option to register for as many events as they wish, pay later option by Jan 1 are entered into a draw. All teams that register AFTER Jan 1 are entered as first come first serve behind the Draw teams.

Allowing teams a privilege to pay for an advantage was not fair and NOT was SFL is about. Having the extra money in our account doesn’t benefit the series, and actually only hurts the organization as a whole. Fact is the registration money is YOUR money and has no value to be sitting in SFL’s bank accounts and is better fit in your own. We all know how tough times are currently!

We introduced a very low $20 deposit per event system so again the money stays where it should, with you, when other organizations take 50% or higher to register.

We do still take the $20 NON Refundable and NON transferable deposits as collateral because it still takes SFL countless hours to organize, promote and plan all winter long, and at a minimum the $20 holds teams accountable that they are somewhat serious about fishing those events and just not just signing up for nothing making us look like we post false numbers.

It's never too late to book a last minute gift!

Friendly reminder that the deadline to be entered into the starting boat number positions for 2024 both netbait and freedom divisions will be Jan 1. All teams that register after Jan 1 will be place in order of first come first serve.

If you haven’t placed a vote yet, just as a FYI we really are watching this poll closely and listening to our anglers! has NOT selected either championship locations for 2024. Even though the results currently show “Different Locations” are way ahead, they are actually closer than it looks as we are only considering the votes from anglers that actually fish with SFL. If you would like to vote, SFL page December 12th morning post.

With all 15 Teams heading home, it’s time to get back to planning 2024. With that in mind, do we resign with Bass??? Who is interested to attend in 2024?

We called it an army, and it was! They came as a group, fought as a group, represented at a National Championship with pride, honour, and respect!

As owners of this organization, this is a group we will never forget! To add the pink ribbon this week to show support in our weakest moments, has made you all champions. We watched from home, all week, I even watched basstrak during Erin’s chemo treatment today to cheer you all. Thank you! Again the anglers prove to us how amazing the community is! This doesn’t happen for everyone, not all owners and organizations receive that support and recognition. We see that, and We will NOT forget, and continue to strive to give you all the best series in all of Canada 🇨🇦.

We love you all! Congratulations Team Canada. photo thanks to Jeff Blanchard
