Summer Slam wrestling July 11th

Summer Slam set for July 11 HAWTHORN — It’s always wrestling season around here, so why not do something in July.

Today, our wrestling community gathers with profound gratitude. We remember two extraordinary soldiers—our brothers from the mat—whose courage defended our nation and whose passion forever shaped our wrestling family.
In wrestling, we are taught that the bond formed through shared sweat, discipline, and sacrifice is unbreakable. These two young men took those exact lessons—loyalty, resilience, and unyielding grit—and carried them from the wrestling room to the front lines. They traded their singlets for uniforms, answering a higher calling to protect the freedoms we enjoy today.

Blast from the past.
Well walking around the wrestling room. I hear new parents talking about we should establish a club. A lot of them didn’t realize we had an established club for about a decade; 2011-until Covid are club was “Redneck Express”.
Here are few tournaments we went to.
1. Tournament champs when 3000 wrestlers attended. Last match was 2am
2. New Jersey Nationals Atlantic City
3. Grand City Rumble Michigan
4. Meele til midnight Virginia out on a football field and later gym, wrestled with security lights only because wrestling went to 3am and the ordnance didn’t allow them to stay on.
5. Virginia Beach nationals returning with several national podium winners, Cole Shirey finishing 4th Senior division .
6. Went to a tournament in Wi******er WV went 48-1, they thought we were an all star team. Our only lost came from newbethlem brothers beating each other.
7. Flood City Tournaments 3 in a year at different locations; A lot of great wins but biggest was Gabe Carrol winning Outstanding Wrester of the tournament!

Redneck Express

There can be only one!!!!!!

Girls wrestling one classification one state champ. The only other state that has this mountain to climb is California.

At Redbank Valley we choose Iris Reitz as our Champion.

It Begins Thursday; “There can be only one!”
