There will be no practice this Sunday in observance of Mother's Day. We will resume HEMA practice the following Sunday and welcome all beginners.

Shreveport HEMA is thrilled to announce the addition of a sharp pointy thing to our gift basket, which will be raffled off on Saturday at the Tartan Festival in, Minden LA, The basket also features a signed copy of an Outlander book by the author, an antique Scottish brooch, a real 18th-century framed newspaper, coin and musketball, fine Scottish whiskey, and a $150 gift certificate for a tattoo of your choice from Tattoos by Ash. And other great items Participants must be 21 or older to receive the whiskey and 18 or older to receive the tattoo and sword. Tickets are available for purchase at 1 for $10, 2 for $15, and 3 for $25. Be sure to visit the Shreveport HEMA table to participate enjoy our demos and 30-minute introductory swordsmanship class throughout the day ask for times at the festival.
