I had a friend ask where all my garden photos are this year. The truth is that we have been so busy trying to enjoy every ounce of this summer that it's taken a back burner. This being said, the garden is out of control 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 so we harvested about 12 lbs of tomatoes today (and tossed far to many that were bad already) and made some Salsa. Anyone, have any quick recipes? This took me 8 hours. 🤣. 3 hours of simmering down mind you, but still. An entire day for 7 jars. 🥺. This is however the best salsa you will ever try ❤️. If your lucky. Teehee.

Ok. I had so much fun!!!!!! Haley Chontos a friend of mine since we were both pregnant with our youngest children decided to Box Olympic Style in Support of McMaster Children’s Hospital. We both have children that had to be admitted there and it was super emotional for me, but in a good way. I was so freaking proud that I have this bad ass friend who was willing to get punched in the face (and punch back even harder) and push herself to do something most will never do in their lifetime. All in support of the care for our children when they need it most. I am honoured that I got to be there in person to support this kick ass Mama and I hope she does it again 🥰🏆 Not only did she fight, but she won her match!!!!!!

Soph was on City Tv tonight. Communist Canada doesn’t allow news media to be shared on social media so I can’t post it. If you want to see it, please PM me so that I can send it to you. She was a rock star. She did so well.

Now and then :) Sophia update. For some reason I can’t share what I wrote in Facebook here. I will try to post it in the comments. Hockey friends please don’t tell your Kids yet. We are planning on coming to the game on Sunday day and Soph wants to surprise EVERYONE.

Sophia Update.

During the Christmas break her team was in a tournament not too far from home. She had originally said that she was going to volunteer selling popcorn at the skills competition on the same day but then decided it was too hard to go and not be able to participate. When she heard that her friends form her team were sad they didn’t see her she decided to go to one of the tournament games and we are all glad she did.

Her team was so happy to see her and even though it was very hard for her to not be able to play with them she had so much fun cheering them on.

Her team came over to the glass before the game and did the Bandits cheer with her and she was so touched she started to tear up and said that was so nice of them 🥰

They won that game and Soph was so pumped she wanted to come back the next day to watch them again. They did the cheer with her again before the last game (we got there late for the one before)

Her team won the tournament in first place 🥰. The excitement was electric. One of her couches came over to her and handed her her own championship medal after the last game and they took the team photo with her behind the glass in the picture with them. They even displayed her jersey on the wall behind the bench.

This is exactly what we all needed and Soph was so excited to hear everyone say that she was their good luck charm 🥰

This weekend was the first time she refused to use her wheelchair and since then she has being using her walker as her sole means of getting around. She is super determined and is still kicking butt and getting stronger every day.

Sophia update.

We had a lovely a Christmas Break at home. She came home in this super fancy wheelchair and as soon as she got home on Christmas Eve she started using her left hand to grip the wheels so she was able to move herself around the main floor. She was super happy about that and so were we.

Santa brought her a Lorax costume so so fun times were had playing dress up. She won’t fit into this suit for much longer though. She has had a growth spurt big time. In the last 7 months she has grown 1 and a 1/4 inch. Yikes. She’s going to be taller than her Mama that’s for sure.

Lots more to update on but I will save the good news for tomorrow.

She is still getting stronger every day. She is super determined.

January 9th we have our meeting with Bloorview for them to give us their official plan of action. I can’t wait until then so that we know more of what the next chapter will look like.

Sophia Update

She is so unbelievably loved and adored by so many people. Good things really do come to good people ❤️🥰❤️

One of Sophs friends Moms shared her story and was able to shift some donations her way and in the process Santa and Mrs Clause heard about it. So they decided to make a special visit just to see her 🥰🥰🥰

Can you believe it? The real Santa and Mrs Clause in our house only a few nights before Christmas. I still can’t believe it.

There are absolutely no words to express how grateful and lucky we feel to be a part of this community. The love and kindness we have seen is like what you see in the movies and don’t ever think can happen in real life.

There are angles amungst us in the shape of our community members.

Thank you to each and every one of you that have made :Sophia’s life so much better. She loves each and every one of you and loves knowing that she is loved back. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

Back to Bloorview for two days of intense Rehab and then back home for Christmas. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas from us 🥰

Sophia update.

We had way too much last night. Check out these short videos to fill your heart with joy. This kid still has her entertaining personality I’ll tell ya.

Aside from this, WE ARE AT HOME. ALL 5 of us together under one roof for the first time in almost 3 weeks.

We have a couple of appts at MAC on Monday and then back home Monday night until she is admitted to Bloorview on Tuesday.

It sounds as though we will get approved leave of absences on weekends and that is as long as Steve and I continue to be the best we can be at making sure she is safe at home.

Side note, I will be taking a break for Sophia updates until she is back at Bloorview. I want to spend this weekend fully immersed in this amazing family that God gave me

Sophia Update

Another amazing busy day.

She can shrug her left shoulder today, she ate some pieces of hard boiled eggs and jello and can now drink from a straw again.
She had water, apple juice and a protein drink.

She walked longer today and with less help. We even ventured down to the gift shop in her chair.

We got good news today amd while she is still at risk she is out of the immediate “danger zone”.

Tomorrow she will try eating more solid foods. She wants to try a muffin 🥰.

There is even talk about moving her out of the ICU and into another room in the hospital.

Another great day and a lot less scarier that’s for sure. God is here with her and has been since day one. I’m convinced without the love and prayers from all of her loved ones and the wonderful staff here at MAC that she would not be alive today.
