We’re thrilled that rising star Charlotte Brown will be completing our 2026 Napier Triathlon Festival ambassador squad!
Charlotte made her World Cup debut at last year’s Napier Tri Festival, and she’s returning for more elite racing in 2026! Her positive energy is absolutely contagious, we couldn’t think of a better person to inspire and motivate our Napier Tri community.
Learn more about Charlotte:
1. What would the name of your racing alter ego be?
Turbo Calf ~ young, fast, cow lover, full of growing power.
2. If you could only eat 1 meal for the rest of your life, what would it be?
If I could live off one meal forever, it would hands down be nachos.
3. High or low socks?
High for cycling, low for running, and everyday life
4. What is your least favorite discipline (Swim, Bike or Run)?
The 4th discipline, transitions, so much can go wrong in such a small amount of time

My dream event would be the Olympic Games held in Auckland. Being able to compete on home soil, with my friends and family there in person, would mean everything to me.
6. What was your New Years Resolution?
Control what I can: my effort, attitude, and preparation, not other people’s opinions or actions.
6b. Have you completed it?
I’ve definitely gotten better at this, but it’s still a work in progress.
7. What is your favorite thing to do in Napier?
I love walking around Napier, the Art Deco charm, highlighted by its classic cars, pairs beautifully with the breathtaking beaches.
8. What is your go to race day breakfast?
On race day, I always choose avocado on toast for breakfast.
9. Who is your Triathlon GOAT?
My triathlon GOAT’s are Taylor Spivey and Emma Jeffcoat. Taylor never fails to amaze me with her remarkable consistency; regardless of the competition, she consistently achieves a top 10 finish. Emma motivates me with her unwavering dedication and strength; even when confronted with numerous challenges and obstacles, she relentlessly pours her heart into the sport she loves.

Two very different race experiences here in Canada, one that tested me in every way, and one that reminded me of the progress I’ve made.
Magog Continental Cup
Magog was a brutal day. The swim was absolute chaos, and I found myself just trying to stay afloat and survive rather than race. I couldn’t get into any rhythm, and by the time I exited the water, I was already fighting from behind. The heat was relentless and drained me early. I couldn’t find my usual gears on the bike or run. It was a disappointing result, and definitely not what I came here for. But races like this, the ones that sting, always show you where the cracks are. It gave me clarity on what I need to work on moving forward.
Montreal Continental Cup
A week later, I lined up in Montreal with something to prove. I approached the race with a different mindset, calm, focused, and ready to reset. The swim was a step forward, still not perfect, but I stayed composed, found better positioning, and exited in a much stronger place. From there, I put together my best run off the bike to date. I felt strong, controlled, and confident through the final stages. In a tough international field, I walked away with a performance I was proud of and a result that felt like redemption.
I’m now spending a few weeks training in Victoria, soaking up the environment, focusing on key elements, and sharpening up before the final race of my Canadian racing campaign, Kelowna Continental Cup. I’m excited to carry this momentum forward, keep learning, and make the most of this opportunity to race and grow on international ground.
Racing in Canada has been both humbling and energising a reminder that this journey is full of ups, downs, and everything in between. One more to go!

It feels surreal to finally say this, I’m officially competing in my first Triathlon World Cup! This has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember, and to see it finally come to life is amazing.
This journey has been anything but easy. It’s taken countless early mornings, grueling workouts, and sacrifices, but every single challenge along the way has been worth it to get to this point. None of it would’ve been possible without the unwavering support of some very special people in my life.
First and foremost, I want to thank my family, Mum and Dad, as well as Steven, Nathan, and Jennifer. Your unconditional love, encouragement, and belief in me have been the foundation of everything I do.
I also want to extend my deepest gratitude to all of my coaches. Your guidance, dedication, and belief in me have been essential in helping me reach this point. Each of you have pushed me to grow, taught me how to overcome obstacles, and showed me how to dig deeper than I ever thought possible.
To my supporters, thank you. Every cheer, every message, every piece of encouragement has meant the world to me. Your belief in me fuels my determination to push through and reach new heights. I am so grateful to have such a dedicated, loving community behind me.
A huge thank you to my incredible sponsors. Your support has made it possible for me to continue training at the highest level, giving me access to the resources and tools I need to be my best. Your belief in my abilities has allowed me to focus on what matters most – the journey ahead. I promise to give it my all and make sure your investment in me is worth it. Together, we’re about to make some amazing things happen.
I am ready to represent you all and to make you proud. Here's to my first World Cup in Naiper next weekend (Feb23rd) ♡ Lots of love - Brownie
