High Altitude Personal Training

Ignore my retro plate, it was my grandma's 😌 - but check out this super yummy dinner we had tonight! Bacon braised collard greens with grass-fed bison burgers! I topped them with Chipotle Bitchin' Sauce from Whole Foods, a little mustard, and some banana peppers.

Just a quick note to those who may be considering a pause in their routines. I had to break from HAPT from end of Jan - beginning of March for personal reasons and it was the worst idea. I didn't have too much control over it but I tell you, once I stopped, I immediately felt worse. My weight was climbing back up, my health was going down, my diet went right back to what it had been which was awful and its so easy to take that road and say well, its too late now to turn around. I've only been back a few weeks or so and again, I noticed an immediate change, mostly in attitude. Felling much better mentally and not so sad. So, long story short, you can have to old you back within a few days if you want, but for me, I must choose the path to a successful future, mind, body, spirit and it all starts right here for me. If you are on the fence about joining HAPT because its more expensive than local gyms that are around, I urge you to treat yourself to 1 month of this and you'll never even consider those places unless its very supplementary. The trainers here are very good at what they do and design a way a living for you with concentrated workouts specific to you and what you need, not just an ID card to come and go as you please with no direction. Thanks for letting me post. - Kurt
To all at HAPT! Love the fitness programs, Happy Holidays and see you in 2019! Looking forward to a MAJOR change in health this coming year... who's with me?
Coming home tonight, excited to get back to high altitude!
Only 7 days left until these become illegal for the September Challenge. I must confess I ate one today as sort of a last good-bye...
Love the treatment and care I get from these wonderful trainers. They have a lot of heart behind their methods.... love it.
Thank you for everything you do HAPT. I'm learning this quote to be 100%true.
Being fit doesn't stop after you work out. It's a package deal. Nutrition + exercise = 💪
Shout out to Rachel for killing my first workout in 7 months - missed this first class crew but not the skull crushers!!!!!!! XOXOXO , ,
Just joined today... love it. Very professional and very concerned with me reaching my goals... excited to move forward.
I have had a few HAPT Flagstaff friends asked me to post my basic Whole 30 tomato sauce. I was unaware there were whole 30 recipes online. Three weeks ago I just dove in and made this. I was sooo surprised it turned out sooo good. Delicious in fact. Amazing in fact!!!!!
12 tomatoes or 4 lbs. chopped.
2 garlic cloves minced or more. ( I am French and Itailian and more is always good.)
One large onion chopped.
Mushrooms. A hand full or more or less.
Brown the onions, garlic and mushrooms.
1/2 tsp of oregano. I used a hand full of chopped dried herbs.
1/2 tsp of basil. I used more. That's how I cook. Sorry!
sea salt to taste
pepper to taste.
I threw everything in my crockpot and at the end of the day, presto. Amazing sauce.
You can put it through the food processor but I like it chunky.
Next time I will add sausage.
I will NEVER EVER use canned tomato sauce again UNLESS there is a food shortage.
Bon appetite!!!!!! Enjoy!
LOVED seeing my HAPT Family today! Adore y'all! XO
Only 24 hrs and 2 minutes early😄Can you tell I was looking forward to my workout? Miss you all! Happy Labor Day🇺🇸

Remember that failure is an important step on your path to success.

Got your coming straight from the mouth of our 16th President, Abraham Lincoln.

We are halfway through member appreciation week ❤️

We have had so much fun sharing our favorite memories of HAPT, reminiscing on all of the amazing times, and sharing more about what’s to come with our new brand!

Be sure to make it in for your workouts the rest of the week, there’s more fun in store! 🤗

YOU and this family mean everything to us. It is more than a place to workout. More than a place to get stronger, or more flexible, or healthier. It is more than a part of our weekly routines. More than a place to grow. More than a place to push ourselves to new bests. More than a place to become better versions of ourselves. It is more than just a gym.

It is a home. And home would not be home without family. Thank you, HAPT Fam, for being a part of ours. And for standing beside us all these years and walking (stumbling, at times) step by step along this journey with us.

Head to the link below to hear Allison, our Head of Trainer Development’s perspective on our new brand!

Happy National Pizza Day! 🍕

Yes, we are trainers. But we are also humans, which means we LOVE pizza! However, we try to stick to recipes that keep it real when it comes to the ingredients. If you are planning to celebrate this delicious holiday, head to the link below for a clean and gluten-free pizza recipe to bake at home.

Enjoy! 😋

Happy Monday, HAPT Fam! It’s a great Monday, because your next hint for our new brand is FINALLY here!

The second reason that we chose our new name is: THE STRENGTH & POWER OF FITNESS.

Fitness has the ability to change lives. It is the reason we do what we do. So we knew our new name had to embody how powerful that is and how much it means to us. To hear more from our membership rep, Juliann, head to the link below for her perspective on our new name.

And in case you didn’t notice, we did throw in an extra little tile hint. Does this provoke any guesses? 😉

Mitch is here!!!🙌🏼

We are so excited to welcome Mitch to our team down here in PV! He started at our Flagstaff location back in October of 2020 and has trained in over 1,300 personal training sessions for us. If you haven’t met him yet, he is such a dedicated trainer and we cannot say enough great things about him.

Welcome to the Paradise Valley Family, Mitch! ❤️ We are so excited to have you down here in the valley.

We are 10 days into our Weight Loss Challenge, HAPT Fam! And while the hydration and weight loss portions of the challenge are pretty straightforward, the JERF'ing (Just Eat Real Food) portion is a little more complicated to stick to everyday!

We have been getting questions regarding what qualifies as "real food." When in doubt, stick to foods that are unquestionably real and whole, such as fresh fruit & vegetables, meats, nuts, & seeds. Here are 3 helpful questions to ask yourself:

1. Did this come from the ground?
2. Did this have a mother?
3. Would my grandparents know what this is?

While the general rule of thumb would be to answer "yes" to all of these questions, there can be some exceptions. Head to the link below for a helpful blog post on JERF'ing, including what it means and 10 steps to help you stick to it!

Yes. Just yes.

Challenging your balance & stability during a workout (like squatting on a BOSU ball) not only produces a higher caloric output, but it can also help strengthen your body to maximize your output during more traditional weightlifting exercises.

Not to mention, it can be super fun! 😋 Be sure to let your trainer know if you would like to incorporate more balance-oriented exercises into your workouts!
