Former Mamelodi Sundowns star Lucas Costa Ribeiro is back on the market after being released by Cultural Deportiva Leonesa. The Brazilian winger is one of 14 players let go following the club's relegation to Spain's third tier.

⛽During a recent appearance on Kasi Jam, part of MacG's Podcast Network, Coach Dumisani known as the Blind Coach spoke warmly about his admiration for Coach Rulani Mokwena. He praised Rulani's ability to unlock the potential in his players while staying true to South African football culture, pointing to his work with Thembinkosi Lorch as a prime example.

Coach Dumisani also expressed great admiration for Relebohile Mofokeng, highlighting the young star's rare combination of discipline and talent, and shared that he would welcome the opportunity to sit down for a conversation with him.

Mbekezeli Mbokazi has been named in the 2026 MLS All Star team and he didn't just make the cut, he received MORE votes than any other player, including Lionel Messi and Son Heung-min❗️

He becomes only the second South African ever after the legendary Doctor Khumalo to earn this honour. 🙌

Mbokazi will line up alongside Messi himself when the MLS All-Stars take on LIGA MX All Stars in Charlotte on July 29.

⛽️Is Abdeslam Ouaddou's Fatigue a Justifiable Reason to Resign as Orlando Pirates Coach❓️

Abdeslam Ouaddou guided Orlando Pirates to their first league championship in 14 years, completing a remarkable domestic treble that included the MTN8, the Carling Knockout Cup, and the Betway Premiership title. Yet, rather than celebrating the glory, the Moroccan tactician stunned the football lovers and Pirates fans by hinting that he may not return for another season, citing exhaustion as his primary reason.

Ouaddou was transparent about his state of mind, saying he was "very tired" and that to steer such a massive ship, one needs to be entirely fit, adding that without energy, it would be incredibly difficult to continue. These are honest, sobering words from a man who clearly gave everything to the cause.

⛽️The timing of the World Cup presents a real challenge for Bafana Bafana.

Sundowns players are arriving off a gruelling season with heavy minutes in their legs, and fatigue could seriously hamper their ability to match the intensity that the World Cup stage demands.

On the other hand, players from the newly crowned PSL Champions [Orlando Pirates] bring fresh legs but largely lack the international experience needed at this level.

The spine of this squad is built around Pirates and Sundowns players, which means the balance between freshness and experience is delicate. There is hope that the Pirates players rises to the moment, with Relebohile Mofokeng being the one many will have their eyes on.

Unfortunately, resting the Sundowns players further is not a luxury we can afford, as we need to prepare the team for the opening match.

A handful of new faces have been brought in to bolster the squad, but the reality is that there is very little time to integrate them meaningfully into the system. Time, more than anything, is the biggest enemy right now.
