⚠️🚫 A judge from the *Polish Sport Shooting Federation* accidentally shot a contestant during a shooting competition.

On the evening of 14 November 2024, around 9om, a woman requested an Uber in Cape Town. While on her Uber ride, the driver's route took her toward the intersection near the Castle of Good Hope and the Taxi Station in Cape Town CBD. When they stopped at a red traffic light, the driver made no attempt to move when the light turned green.

Before the woman could process what was happening, four men forced their way into the vehicle. They brutally attacked her, holding her at knifepoint while attempting to r**e her. The Uber driver, disturbingly complicit, sat silently and made no effort to intervene.

Despite the overwhelming odds, the woman fought back fiercely and managed to escape the situation. Her injuries required hospital treatment.

Following the attack, a case was opened, and the incident was reported to Uber. While the company initially contacted the woman, she has yet to receive any meaningful follow-up or support. Uber's silence has been deafening.

Shockingly, SAPS has reportedly confirmed that this incident mirrors other similar cases that have been reported. This was not only a robbery but points to an attempted kidnapping.

The ongoing violence against women using e-hailing services is a growing crisis. This latest attack is another reminder that women’s safety can not be taken for granted.

While Uber markets its new "Teen Function," it fails to take accountability for its inadequate vetting process. Once again, the driver’s details did not match the person registered on Uber.

Women For Change stands with all survivors and will continue to amplify their voices. We demand immediate and tangible action to ensure the safety and protection of all women.

It’s time to #HoldUberAccountable and call for safer rides for everyone. #WomenForChange #MeToo #EndViolenceAgainstWomen #GBVInSouthAfrica @uber @ubereats_za 19/11/2024

‘My wife showed courage, so please stop the blame game,’ pleads dad 24/09/2024

My heart breaks for this child and this family..

The father is right in one statement, we shouldn't have to live in fear..

HOWEVER, we live in South Africa, us as parents have to do better and make sure our kids are safe AT ALL TIMES.. We know what this country is like, we know hijackings are rampant (1 hijacking every minute), child trafficking is REAL.. Us parents HAVE to do better.. We need to take off our rose tinted glasses and see what's going on.. Enough is enough..

This poor child did the right thing to escape, unfortunately no one could've guessed what could've happened next.. 💔

‘My wife showed courage, so please stop the blame game,’ pleads dad In an exclusive interview with the POST, a devastated Shaida Ramsamy, 39, said while nothing could bring her daughter back, she and her husband Barnes, 50, and their two sons, Triston, 16, and Jeremiah, 14, wanted justice for their Zarah’s murder.
