This past weekend, the Blades Super Sixes Hockey Festival lit up the Saint Michaels Astro in Bloemfontein! From kids to adults, everyone had a chance to showcase their skills, build teamwork, and experience the electric buzz of community hockey.

A huge thank you to the warm hosts at Saint Michaels your hospitality made every player and spectator feel right at home. With plenty of playtime for all, the festival truly embodied the inclusive spirit that defines our club. It wasn’t just about the game it was a whole lot of fun for everyone involved! Laughter, cheering, new friendships, and exciting plays filled the day with energy and joy.

The fresh skill drills kept even the seasoned players engaged, while the fun and educational atmosphere helped boost the confidence of the younger players.

What’s next?

We’re aiming to keep the momentum going with regular festivals as from next year with every second or third month. Our goal is to welcome even more kids that are both young and older into the fold, grow the club’s footprint, and keep the hockey energy alive and thriving.

Blades are proudly building not just players, but a pipeline of talent, teamwork, and community pride. It’s exactly what junior hockey should be about.

What a weekend we had at Blades Hockey Club! Here's where our senior ladies and gents played it all out, showed off their skills, and had a laugh while playing an amazing sport. We at Blades are happy to have given the kids a chance to play during our off-season. All in all, we managed to let everyone have fun, learn some lessons, meet new people, and make friends too.
