Dear Valued Swim Member, we wanted to let you know of some exciting developments. Cara Lee Splash Swimming has merged with Virgin Active, Claremont - effective 1 September 2023.

As a part of Virgin Active‘s vision to become a global leader within the wellness space, a key pillar to this is guaranteeing that we continue to provide high-quality swimming lessons for our junior and adult members and ensuring that we increase the accessibility of Learn to Swim for all members.

The global swim project is being led by Nick Myler, Group Swim Project Manager and Virgin Active South Africa also welcomes Robin Raven as our National Swim Manager.

Virgin Active will be introducing a new swim lesson programme, which will be aligning levels to follow their global Learn to Swim criteria, that has been endorsed by the Swimming Teachers Association (STA), a global governing body for swimming.

So what does this mean for you?

Virgin Active is rolling out the following lesson structure: Parent & Baby, Pre-school, Level 1 through to Level 7 and a non-competitive bronze,
silver and gold squads.

The key skills that will be developed in Virgin Active’s swim programme will include water confidence, basic movements, stroke technique, stroke correction and advanced stroke correction.

All junior age, competitive and elite level squad offerings will continue to be delivered by the current instructors based at Claremont Club, namely: Cindy, Gregg, Lindo, Cara and soon to include Zaahir.

As Virgin Active expands the Learn to Swim offering into stroke correction and advanced stroke correction, we are grateful as a swimming school to have this opportunity to continue to teach these levels as we build this relationship with Virgin Active.

🙌 Cara and her team will be running a Winter Adventure Program during the upcoming school holidays. Can we get a woop woop? 🥳

🌿 The objective: to get children to stay off their devices and re-connect with nature. Parents have a safe environment for their children to explore, exercise, socialise and learn new skills or face fears through a variety of activities planned.

🌍 Where? Hout Bay
🗓 Dates? Mon 26 June to Fri 14 July 2023 (3 weeks)
⏰ Times? 9 AM to 3 PM Monday to Friday
💰 Cost? R150 per child per day

📝 Requirements: Lunch pack & water bottle. Closed shoes, warm top and a change of clothes.
