I’ve been thinking about writing this post about my mental health journey & have put it off but something inside of me has been telling me that maybe just someone needs to hear this 🫶🏻
This past year, has been one of the darkest but most beautiful times in my life. I have suffered, and been in the lowest points of my life. Dealing with complex PTSD , which comes with so many issues has been something I never thought I would experience.
Everything looks good on the outside but on the inside you feel empty. I wanted to give up, and say I’m done… but I reached out for help and started working towards finding what makes me happy again but no matter what I did it felt like I would get up and fall over and over again.
But something switched inside of me when I realised how precious my life is and of all the beautiful things and people in my life that have been around me during this time. I started seeing hope, I started to feel love again. I started to wake up excited. I could sleep again , I could breathe a little deeper without crying. Yes sometimes it’s harder than other days but I keep reminding myself of the importance of gratitude and life in itself 🫶🏻 this is the happiest I’ve felt in many many years. I’m not perfect but I’m learning to love myself through it.
I’m here to share this message not for you to feel sad, but to remind you that even when everything feels dark..it’s important you look for the light in the smallest of places.
I want to share that it’s OK to ask for help. It’s okay to cry and scream and shout in a way that’s healing and positive for you. It’s okay to accept the strength of others when you do not have your own.
I have had so many changes, pain and anxiety…. But the feeling of waking up with some purpose again is worth the darkness. And I couldn’t not thank the angels & my therapist in my life for being such a shining light ✨ Lord knows I couldn’t do this on my own.
So, please remember you are never alone. You are always loved, and YOU matter no matter what that little voice in your mind says. And you’re always welcome to message me should you need a shoulder to lean on 🫶🏻🖤
