Our Mystery 10th placed lady at the Two Oceans half marathon has a name: Nic Bradfield. At this stage it is still unclear whether Nic is short for Nicola or Nicolette.

In the spirit of fairness and consistency, here’s some braless pictures of our second brah who ran in a women’s race bib. Kudos are in order: According to his Strava account, he ran a PB to crack the top 10 for the first time and then went to Forries to celebrate.

Neither he nor Tegan Garvey (who gave him the bib) made my life easy but thanks to the internet (including a very well known elite female athlete who told me, “They must be exposed! We fight hard for our space in the lady’s field!”), we tracked him down.

It would have been nice for Nic to reach out with a “Sorry I made a terrible mistake” message but a private school education doesn’t guarantee accountability or common sense.

There are plenty more revelations to follow…

"20 Road Races in Cool Country Places"

So excited to see this in print! 📖✨

I recently collaborated with the team at RUN Mag SA to curate a list of 20 incredible remote races for their Autumn 2026 issue. It was an absolute blast researching and writing about these hidden gems.

He’s not Maxed out yet - he’s done it again! 🇿🇦🔥

Maxime Chaumeton has once again lowered his South African 5km road record, clocking a superb 13:06 to finish fifth at the Urban Trail De Lille in France.

The 25-year-old has now broken the national record four times, taking another step forward and edging closer to the sub-13 barrier.

We highlighted Chaumeton as one to watch in the Summer edition of RUN Mag, and he’s already overdelivering.

The trajectory is clear. The ceiling? Still unknown.

Do you think Chaumeton will break the 13 minute barrier this year?
