Muizenberg, 1946🦉
Muizenberg is considered the birthplace of surfing in South Africa. The earliest known photograph of someone upright on a surfboard shows Heather Price riding the waves there in 1919. In 1922, British writer Agatha Christie experienced prone surfing while visiting the town, highlighting Muizenberg’s early role in introducing surfing to South Africa.
