Players have a choice,

They can choose whatever method or whatever academy or coach they want to. But that doesn't mean others are less effective or a poor version. It's life choices

What works for one won't work for another.

We are not there to sell a product or devalue another coach or academy.

There's no need for the coaching community to be critical of other methods. It's not about us as coaches. We are here to support & nurture every player (male or female) that comes into our environment to the best of our ability.

B*W Cricket Coaching is different. Yes, it questions what people think is the best way, but never say it's the only way.

There is only the best way for each individual. What they need is unique to them.

So you can use my methods or not. That's 🆗. It's about life choices

Coaches. IT'S NOT ABOUT US 🌿😊

The unwritten code of coaching

Let’s start by saying that at no stage should a coach be openly critical of another coach. As coaches, we don't own the game. We are merely short-term custodians & are passing through. How we behave now will be our legacy as we pass the baton. Our behaviour will determine how the game sees our impact.

Humility and respect are the number one priority as coaches.

There are enough players in the world for each coach to help.

Voice your concerns & share your views on various methods & practices that happen to provide a point of view but never criticise or target individuals. That goes against the unwritten code of coaching conduct.

So why do coaches do it?

🚨1. Jealousy

When other coaches are successful, instead of reaching out & learning, we feel the need to devalue & discredit for their own benefit. Sharing is caring. From experience, the very best coaches in all sports share knowledge. I've learnt from the greatest minds out there. The top of the tree has nothing to prove & don't need your approval. They are not there to convince. The group below the top try & discredit to dethrone & the group below them are simply followers.

🚨2. Insecurity

Knowledge is king & queen. Knowledge is power & can make others feel inadequate. Some advice, search for knowledge & learn every day.

🚨3. Frustration

Other coaches produce results, so they lose clients to them. Go & find out why. Look internally as to why clients leave & how others have become successful.

🚨4. Misguided views

Normally, athletes would have some previous experiences. If they have changed coaches, it's more often than not because they have stalled in their own performance.

So they then become bitter & blame the coach. In fact, more often than not, the genetic sponge has been squeezed, & they're as good as they will ever be.

The "coach hoppers" as they’re called search for that coach who will tell them they are amazing. Search for false affirmation.

🚨5. Marketing

Try to provide false hope & sell that magic method.

Advice to newly qualified coaches is to stay humble & embrace your role
