Founded in 2013 in Blouberg, Cape Town, Pirates Golf Society began as a social golfing club formed by a group of friends and colleagues.

The name “Pirates” was inspired by Pete the Pirate from the legendary Boogie Bar

🏌️‍♂️ Pirates Golf Society | Westlake Golf Course ⛳
What an incredible day on the fairways yesterday!
We had a fantastic turnout — great to see so many familiar faces, and a warm welcome to the new guests who joined us for the first time. Hope you enjoyed the experience and we’ll be seeing a lot more of you going forward!
The banter was flowing from the first tee to the 18th hole, the golf ranged from seriously impressive to seriously entertaining 😄 — and honestly, that’s exactly what it’s all about.
The weather was absolutely perfect, the course was in immaculate condition, and Westlake did not disappoint.
A huge thank you to everyone who came out and made it the great day it was. This is what the Pirates are all about — good people, good golf, and great memories.
Here’s to the next one! 🏴‍☠️⛳

⚓🏌️ PIRATES GOLF SOCIETY – DEVONVALE, STELLENBOSCH 🏌️⚓

Another weekend, another bunch of pirates pretending they know how to play golf. 😂
We descended on Devon Vale like a crew that definitely had a game plan… and then promptly forgot it on the first tee.
The course was in stunning condition.
Great turnout, great golf (from some of us), and an overall great time.
The fairways were lush, the greens were fast, and the excuses were even faster. 🤷‍♂️

As always, the real highlight came afterwards – a drink or two, the fines session that gave us all a great laugh- Thanks Hammy!!

To the guys who played well – well done!. To the guys who didn’t – see you at the next one, there’s always hope for us. ⛳
Pirates don’t always find treasure, but we always find a good time. 🍺🏴‍☠️
Until next time, crew. AARRR! 🦜

🏴‍☠️Great way to kick off the year for The Pirates 🏴‍☠️
Solid turnout of the guys at Durbanville Golf Course, which is in really good condition.⛳️

A stunning morning but then the wind decided it wanted to play as well — picking up before tee-off. Bright, sunny, and very breezy, which definitely added a bit of spice to the day.

Some great golf was played.
Some guys also got to see far more of the course than they planned 😄
But plenty of laughs, a few questionable decisions, and lots to talk about afterwards.

Special mention to our reigning champ Rob — from winning Golf Tour to proudly wearing the bib by the end of the day. A true hero-to-zero performance that gave everyone a good chuckle 👏😂

All in all, good vibes, good banter, and a solid start to the year. On to the next one 🍻

Today we wrapped up the Pirates Golf Society year with our final game at Milnerton Golf Course.

A good turnout of guys, a course in a great condition, and we couldnt have asked for better weather, a proper way to close out the year.

Thanks to all the Pirates for the camaraderie, laughs, competition, and commitment throughout 2025. These days don’t happen without the people, and this society continues to deliver exactly what it’s meant to.

Wishing everyone a blessed festive season, some well-earned rest, and a prosperous New Year. Here’s to 2026 — may it be a strong one for all of us, on and off the course.

2025 Pirates Golf Society – Annual Club Champs Tour Recap

From 28–30 November 2025, the Pirates took over Paarl for our annual golf tour — and what a weekend it turned out to be.

We based ourselves at the Paddabult cottages, a proper gem out on the farm with four-bed units and enough space for 20 grown men to behave… well, like Pirates.

Saturday (29 Nov) had us at Devonvale, and the boys arrived in full FAF – Fancy As F* –** kitted out in colours loud enough to scare wildlife.

Sunday (30 Nov) at Boschenmeer was our official Pirates attire day, and both courses were in brilliant condition.

Food? No one went hungry.
Chef Hammy owned the kitchen all weekend — Friday night bunny chows that hit the soul, and Saturday night tomahawk lamb steaks big enough to question your life choices. Rolls, salads, the works.

Golf? We saw everything — pure brilliance, absolute chaos, and a whole lot in between. Exactly what a Pirates tour should be.

Results:
5th – Adrian
4th – Drikus
3rd – Colin
2nd – Grant
1st – Rob

Now Rob… this man arrives on tour with a brand-new set of clubs, a handicap that suggested we shouldn’t worry too much, and then absolutely smokes the entire field. Wins the whole damn tour.

Congrats, Rob — 2025 Pirates Tour Champion.

Huge thanks to all the boys who made the weekend what it was. Good golf, questionable golf, proper laughs, and memories that will stick.

Here’s to an even bigger, louder, and wilder 2026 tour. 🏴‍☠️⛳️

Atlantic Beach Golf Estate – Last Game Before Tour 🏌️‍♂️🌤️
What a day out at Atlantic Beach Golf Estate this past Sunday for our last game before tour! We had a good turnout, a few new faces in the mix, and plenty of laughs (both intentional and from some questionable moments).

The weather played along nicely — sunny and calm to start, with the wind showing up just in time to test everyone’s “low stingers.”
We wrapped up with fines and a few cold ones at the top — always a good laugh and the perfect way to end it off.

Big thanks to all the guys who joined in. Now it’s time for tour — let’s make it a good one! 🍻⛳️

🏴‍☠️ Pirates vs Legends – Annual Showdown 🏌️‍♂️

This past weekend we played our annual Pirates vs Legends competition at the beautiful Milnerton Golf Course. Perfect weather and the course was in great condition

There were some great shots and the odd club launched further than the ball 😅

On top of that, the sporting weekend tested everyone’s emotions:
🇿🇦 The Springboks stormed ahead against Australia only to suffer a tough second-half comeback.
🥊 Drikus Du Plessis battled hard in his fight but couldn’t get the win.

So the pressure was on… someone had to deliver a victory! And this year the Pirates came through – winning 11.5 to 8.5 over the Legends. 🏆

A massive thank you to all the organizers and every golfer who made it such a memorable day. Here’s to many more battles, plenty of laughs, and keeping the Pirates flag flying high! 🏴‍☠️🍻

⛳️ Pirates at The MET – July Game Recap

This past weekend we teed it up at the iconic Metropolitan Golf Course in Cape Town — and what a day it turned out to be. After a freezing, howling wind the day before, we were half expecting chaos. But Cape Town did a full 180 and gave us sunshine, clear skies, and perfect golfing conditions.

The MET was in top shape, with greens running fast! Great turnout, great vibes, and some seriously good golf on display.

Thanks to everyone who made it out. Another solid day with the Pirates. 🔥

June - What started as a wet and gloomy morning quickly turned into one of those picture-perfect golf days. The rain came down hard early on—even a few minutes before tee-off—but just as we were about to start, the skies eased up, the clouds parted, and the sun came out to play.

We ended up with ideal weather for a round of golf: partly cloudy, warm, and no wind to speak of. Great turnout from the lads, some solid golf all around, and good banter to go with it. Blessed with the conditions and the company—just one of those days where everything clicked.

In May, We played Belleville Golf Course. Another beautiful day, no wind, clear skies, beautiful weather, and a great game of golf had by all.
