Measles is often confused as German Measles. This is not the same. Measles is a very dangerous and contagious disease and is preventable by vaccinating your 6m old, and repeating the dose at 12m of age.

with WHO Measles can be fatal - Know the symptoms! 📷
Protect yourself and your children by recognising the early warning signs:

Truth!!!

Children learn regulation through us. The Evergreen Parenting principles remind parents that caring for themselves is part of caring well for their children.

Starting solids can be daunting, but good nutrition is vital for brain, bone and muscle development. The fist 1000 days of life are the most critical in laying down healthy nutrition in a child.

with SidebySide 👶

Babies should be exclusively breastfed for the first 6 months. Solid foods should be introduced at about 6 months of age.

: Pureed Meat & Sweet Potato for babies age 6-12 months.

Looking for a simple, nutritious meal for your little one? Try this easy homemade recipe packed with goodness.

🛒 Ingredients:
• ¼ cup lean meat (chicken, beef, or lamb), finely chopped or minced.
• ½ cup sweet potato, peeled and chopped.

👩🏾‍🍳 Method:
1. Place the meat and sweet potato in a saucepan and add enough water to cover. Simmer gently until everything is soft, tender, and well-cooked.

2. Mash, press through a sieve, or blend until smooth, perfect for your baby to enjoy

💡 Tip: As your baby grows, you can leave the texture slightly thicker to help them learn to chew. If your child coughs after every meal, spills most of their food or vomits often when they eat, please take your baby to the clinic to get them assessed.

✨ What other simple, healthy meals do you make for your little one?

Gods way is the natural way, 99% of the time.

In South Africa, C-section rates are far above what the World Health Organisation considers ideal (10–15%). Yet in reality, around 28–29% of births in public hospitals and up to 75% in the private sector are by C-section - with some facilities reporting even higher rates.

While C-sections are life-saving when medically necessary, these numbers raise an important question: Are we supporting birth - or over-medicalising it?

Birth is not a medical emergency by default. It is a physiological process that, in most cases, unfolds safely with the right support. When birth becomes overly medicalised, we risk taking power away from women, increasing unnecessary interventions, and impacting both short- and long-term outcomes for mothers and babies.
This month, we open the conversation.💛

We advocate for:
• Informed choice
• Respectful, evidence-based care
• Midwife-led birth as a safe and empowering option
• Antenatal education that equips mothers with knowledge and confidence

Because when women are informed, supported, and truly seen - birth changes.
Every mother deserves to feel empowered in her birth journey. Let’s bring birth back to where it belongs: in the hands of women, supported by skilled, compassionate midwives.✨
