Why is right now the perfect time for flight training? 🌤️
Sure, we might have had some crazy winds recently, but after all 💩 weather follows great weather 🌤️🌈🥳
Sir Lowry's Pass last week. Beyond the views, the winter season provides the ideal atmospheric stability that students need to build real confidence behind the controls.
If you’ve been waiting for the "right time" to get licensed, it’s now.

Above the Himalayas 🇮🇳🪂 — The Flying Side of the 26 - 28 Oct Adventure
Same three days, but from the sky this time.
Launching from Billing, chasing clouds across deep valleys, climbing through strong thermals, hanging on to weak ones, and gliding along the ridges that stretch between Dharamshala and Mandi. Every turn, every line, every moment in the air was part of the same rhythm — fly, land, camp, rest, repeat.
From cloudbase to top-landings at various regular spots, this was an easy taste of vol-biv freedom in India — moving with the weather, carrying everything I needed, and just enjoying the freedom of flight.
Three days of flight, stars, and sky-time I’ll never forget.
More adventures coming soon
☁️ A Day That Almost Wasn’t | Bir, India 🪂
Woke up to the sound of rain and distant thunder — the kind of morning that usually means no flying today. I made peace with that… but an hour later, the sky began to open. Blue patches, sunlight on the hills — maybe, just maybe, it was worth going up to see.
I headed up the mountain with no expectations — fly if it’s safe, don’t if it’s not. But as we climbed, the conditions just kept improving. So we launched.
The flight wasn’t big in distance, but it was rich in feeling — tracing the soft edges of growing clouds, thermalling in the flats, and returning just as the mountain turned dark again. Later, the sky cleared, then closed again — a reminder of how quickly Bir’s weather shifts and how much respect it demands.
Not every day is epic in kilometers, but some are epic in experience. 🌦️💭
✨ Day 2 in the Skies of Bir ✨
Weaker thermals, punchy climbs, and a few moments that kept me honest — but what a day. I launched from Billing, surfed my way west to Big Face with its snow-littered peak, then crossed back east to Camp 360. Thought about camping overnight… but it was Diwali, and the pull of lights, laughter, and fireworks in the valley won.
So I relaunched, floated back toward Bir, and landed 3 km short — just enough to enjoy a long, soul-filling walk home through villages glowing with diyas. Wishing “Happy Diwali” to strangers who smiled back under the fading sunset might’ve been the best flight of all. 🌄🔥🪔

Day 2 of flying. Another beautiful day. A little more challenging than yesterday.
Top landed at , thought about camping (I'm flying with camping gear, food, etc) on the mountain however decided to rather experience Diwali in Bir.
Took off and flew back, landed about 3km short of the main landing field.
Had a soul filling walk back
Life is awesome
Happy Diwali 🎇🪔
