SUZUKI ULTRA TRI-SERIES GETS NEW DISTANCES AND EVENTS IN 2024

The popular national Suzuki Ultra triathlon series will see new distances being set in 2024 as the Series makes waves across South Africa as the biggest and most inclusive triathlon series available.

The changes to the race distances are in-line with global trends and the recent announcement of the PTO (Professional Triathlon Organisation) World Long Distance Championship Series.

The changes to the Ultra Series distances will give the series unique race distances, as well offering exclusive events for our athletes.

The new 2024 Suzuki Series race distances will be as follows:
• Sprint Triathlon: 600m Swim / 20km Cycle / 5km Run
• Standard Triathlon: 1.5km Swim / 40km Cycle / 10km Run
• Ultra Triathlon: 2km Swim / 80km Cycle / 18km Run
• Aquabike: 2km Swim / 80km Cycle
• 153 Tri: 3km Swim / 120km Cycle / 30km Run

These changes are to give the Ultra triathlon a uniqueness in the ever-changing global triathlon market and to give the athletes exactly what they are looking for from these races.

In addition to these new race distances the 4 events in the series will each have a unique race distance offering. The introduction of the new 153 Race in 2023,which is 153km of racing, offers a 3/4 iron distance race, is a unique distance in Africa and gives athletes a great long distance goal to strive for. In 2024, there will also be an addition of the Standard distances triathlon, which is the same distance raced at the Olympic games. This popular distance race is geared for athletes who want something longer then the sprint race.
