Rulani: We couldn't beat Young Africans because Zwane was not there
Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena says they missed their captain Themba Zwane but can’t fault his players after the 0-0 draw against Young Africans SC.
“He’s the captain of our team, an important part of our team and of course, we missed him a little bit today but everyone tried, I’m happy with the commitment and effort, especially in the second half,” Mokwena said.
“Okay, let’s build from that. It’s not always easy coming from a FIFA break, the first game after an international break – but okay let’s see how it goes.”
Maake: Maswanganyi is better than Thembinkosi Lorch
Orlando Pirates legend Lawrence Maake backs Patrick Maswanganyi to go on and do better than Thembinkosi Lorch at the Soweto giants.
"In terms of attacking, I'm very comfortable with Maswanganyi. Of course, sometimes players who are good with attacking struggle with defending, but they still make a difference. I just want to see him performing at the same level as he is doing at the moment," Maake said.
"He is not afraid to hold the ball and do whatever he wants to do. I like the fact that he knows when to make the right decision. Look at the goal he created for Monnapule Saleng. Two touches and it was on," he says.
"Lorch he came through and he showed us what he was capable of, and then there were other factors outside the field disturbing him. So, Lorch never got to show us his full potential. But I think Maswanganyi, given his space and full support from the management and the team around him, he is doing better than Lorch.

Johnson: Chiefs should have won the game, we missed too many opportunities
Kaizer Chiefs interim coach Cavin Johnson felt his side should have walked away with the win against Cape Town City.
"I thought we should have won the game, I thought we had a good first and second half, we missed quite a few opportunities too many but you know what, from the last game we played, the energy that we put in the derby," Johnson told SuperSport TV.
"The energy that this team put in today, I think it is just climbing. We couldn't score the goal but we'll probably get it right next time.
"Thanks to the fans for coming out, they gave us a good welcome in Cape Town but I thought we should have won the game," he said.
"But again, we keep a clean-sheet, which is normal for us this time but we should have scored the goal," he added.Johnson: Chiefs should have won the game, we missed too many opportunities
