Day 2, 2 April 2026:

Another strong day on the track 💥

1500m saw Jemma Barnard and Meyer Botha both take 3rd place — an incredible result considering it was their first ever track meet, first time racing a velodrome, and their first Track Nationals. Straight onto the podium.

In the Elimination, Eric Breed took the win 🥇, Hayden Salzwedel rode to 2nd 🥈, and Hannie Vreken added another strong 3rd 🥉 with smart, aggressive racing.

We are super proud of all our riders — the effort, courage, and determination shown on the track is what this team is built on.

This is exactly what our team stands for — identifying talent, creating opportunities, and giving young riders the space to grow and deliver.

We are the dark horses… and we’re only getting started.

Day 1, 1 April 2026 :

Our Junior Riders rode a 1km TT and the Points Race....

Amone Buser 2nd in 1kmTT,
Hayden Salzwedel as a 1st year Junior is our new National Points Race Champion, and Hannie Vreken raced an aggressive Points race, launching several attack, and finished in a well deserved 3rd, proud of our girls for their hard, positive and aggressive racing!

A huge shout out to Alex Christie that had a huge wipe out, got up, got back on his bike when a front wheel was replaced, battered and bruised, but he displayed tremendous grit by finishing his race, and still scored a few points too.

Day 0: CyclingSA arranged for riders to ride "time stardards", which is one of the compulsory requirements for riders in the selection pool, that wishes to represent the country in international competitions. Riders had to do a flying Individual Pursuit, and a flying 200m sprint within a specific time frame. This was several of our riders' first track "racing" experience, and they learned and gained invaluable experience in a very short time frame. Super proud of our riders!
