TUT APPLICATION STATUS: “DOCUMENTS OUTSTANDING”

Let me explain this properly so that you clearly understand what is happening and what you need to do.

Tshwane University of Technology requires three compulsory documents before they can process and consider your application.
These are:
✅️A certified copy of your ID
✅️A certified copy of your results (Grade 11 Final Results OR Matric Statement or Certificate)
✅️Proof of payment of the R240 application fee

You cannot submit a TUT application without uploading
•Your ID copy and
•Your results.
The system does not allow you to proceed without these two documents.

You'll be prompted to submit your documents 3 times during your application:
1. At the beginning of the application process, on the first page, you are required to upload your ID.
2. On the second page, you are required to upload your results.
3. Towards the end of the application, you'll reach the documents page where the system will not allow you to proceed unless these documents have been submitted.

This means that if you received confirmation that your application was successfully submitted, your ID and results were already uploaded correctly.
(If l submitted your TUT Application, your ID and results were submitted)

___

Now let’s talk about the application fee.

TUT has a once-off, non-refundable application fee of R240.

You are allowed to:
✅️• Pay before submitting your application
OR
✅️• Submit your application first and pay at a later stage

❗️However, your application will only be processed once you have paid and submitted your proof of payment.

__

Now, let’s address the “Documents Outstanding” status.

In most cases, when your status shows “Documents Outstanding”,
💡It is because your proof of payment has either
1. Not been submitted or
2. Has not yet been processed by the university.

If you have not paid the R240 fee and submitted proof of payment, your status will remain on “Documents Outstanding”.

Another important point you need to understand is this.

❗️Even after you have submitted all three documents, your status may still continue to show “Documents Outstanding” for some time.
❗️You may also continue receiving emails from the university asking you to submit documents even though you have already done so.

Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence with TUT applications. We have been struggling with this for years, your status can take days, weeks, months or even an entire year before it changes.

___

So what should you do?

You need to make sure of the following:
✅️• Your ID copy is uploaded
✅️• Your results are uploaded
✅️• You have paid the R240 application fee
✅️• You have used the correct reference when making payment
✅️• You have submitted your proof of payment

After you have submitted all required documents correctly, your status will eventually update once the university processes your application.

___

How to upload documents?

TUT sends an official email after you submit your application. This email explains exactly how to submit your documents and includes a link showing you where to upload them.

Please follow the instructions provided in that email to submit your documents

When you open the link:
✅️ Enter your student number (written on your letter)
✅️Enter PIN
( If you do not know or remember your PIN, select “Request PIN” and it will be sent to your email address)
✅️Once you have accessed your profile, follow the steps provided to upload and submit your documents.

If you applied at TUT or you plan to apply at TUT for 2027, please read this.

❗️TUT has an a COMPULSORY and ONCE OFF application fee of R240.

•By 'compulsory' what we mean is everyone who applies at TUT is supposed to pay the application fee for their application to processed.

•By 'Once Off' what we mean, you only pay this application fee ONCE. If you applied at TUT last year , paid the application fee and you were not accepted, then you DO NOT have to pay it again when applying this year.

So if you want your TUT application to be considered then you must
1. Pay your application fee of R240
2. Upload the Application fee.

You can pay the application fee
✅️Before you start your application (make sure you qualify first)
✅️Mid application - you can stop, go and pay then login again and complete your application
✅️After submitting your application

The R240 application fee is paid directly into the
University's ABSA bank account.
You can pay either by
✅️Depositing at an ABSA atm or bank OR
✅️Doing an EFT into the university’s bank account

Very important
✅️Your reference is your South African ID Number

❌️DO NOT use:
•Your student number
•Your names and surname
•Or even worse write the University's name as the reference.

After making payment
✅️UPLOAD your Proof of Payment to the Student Portal.
(This is also VERY IMPORTANT)

Your Application Fee is only considered PAID after you upload your proof payment.

💡If you applied at TUT before, paid the application fee and uploaded it but your status still says Documents Outstanding:
✅️Go to the Student Portal, download the Proof of payment and upload it AGAIN.

❗️Your application will NOT be considered until you pay the application fee and upload the proof of payment!

Please note:
•Your status can still say "Documents Outstanding" even after you paid, used the correct reference and uploaded your proof of payment. This is normal with TUT.
•It will eventually change once they process your documents again
✅️I'd say reupload your documents again and again

Walter Sisulu University (WSU) has officially introduced a NEW application fee for 2027 applications.

Previously, WSU applications were FREE.
However, this has now changed.

WSU now requires:
✅️ A non-refundable R100 online application fee.

The application process now works VERY differently from previous years. Please read carefully if you are planning to apply at WSU for 2027:

❌️ You can NOLONGER submit the application without paying application fees, applications are not free anymore.
❌️ You CANNOT submit the application without payment then pay it later.
❌️ You CANNOT do an EFT and upload proof of payment afterwards.
❌️ You CANNOT deposit money at the bank or ATM and submit the Deposit slip afterwards.

✅️The application fee payment MUST be completed ONLINE before submission.

Meaning:
Before your application can be successfully submitted:
✅️ The R100 application fee must FIRST be paid online using the online method available (Card payment)

Only AFTER payment:
•Will the system allow you to submit the application.

If you are applying at WSU this year, please make sure:
• You have at least R100 available in your bank account and,
• You have access to a bank card for online payment

Another MAJOR issue right now is the WSU website.
Since applications opened on 1 June 2026:
The WSU system has been EXTREMELY unstable.

We've been currently experiencing:
• Website crashes
• Login problems
• Difficulties creating profiles
• Pages failing to load
• The system freezing midway through applications
• Applications struggling to move to the next step

If you are struggling with the WSU website right now,
YOU ARE NOT THE ONLY ONE.

Applications officially opened on: 1 June 2026

02/06/2026

North-West University (NWU) has officially introduced a NEW application fee for 2027 applications 🚨

For YEARS, NWU applications were FREE.
However, this has now changed.

NWU now requires:
✅️ A non-refundable R150 online administration/application fee for South African applicants.

Please read carefully because the NWU application fee process works VERY differently from many other universities.

With universities such as TUT, you are able to:
• Submit the application first
• Pay the application fee later
• Upload proof of payment afterwards

However, NWU DOES NOT work like that.

With NWU:
❌️ You CANNOT submit the application first and pay later
❌️ You CANNOT upload proof of payment afterwards
❌️ You CANNOT submit the application without payment

The payment must be completed ONLINE inside the NWU application system itself.

Meaning:
Before the application can be finally submitted:
✅️ The R150 administration fee MUST first be paid successfully online.

Only AFTER payment:
• The payment option disappears
• Then the final submission can be completed

So if you are applying at NWU this year, please prepare accordingly because your application will remain INCOMPLETE until payment has been made successfully.

⚠️ Important:
The R150 administration fee is paid directly to North-West University.

If you will be applying at NWU, rather handle the payment yourself.

Please also be careful online and NEVER share:
❌️ Card details
❌️ CVV numbers
❌️ Banking passwords
❌️ OTPs
with anyone.

Applications officially opened on 1 June 2026 🌸

TUT Courses ALREADY FULL for 2027!

❌️You can no longer apply for them for next year, until applications open again for the year 2028.

For those who are not aware:
Tshwane University of Technology applications work differently from other universities.

As soon as they receive a certain number of applications, that course is removed from the application portal.
What this means is:
• You will not be able to see it
• You will not be able to apply for it

💡If you have:
• English Level 3
• OR an APS below 24 (anything from 20-23)
• OR Level 1 or 2 in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy
• OR even worse, a combination of the above

PLEASE, for your sake:
✅ Make sure you apply at Tshwane University of Technology NOW
✅ Do not delay or postpone any longer otherwise the courses you qualify for may no longer be available

❗ With the marks mentioned above, you are going to struggle A LOT to find universities you qualify for and even courses you qualify for at those universities.

And even worse, if you do find a university where you qualify, your chances of getting accepted will also be low, as the requirements at other universities are quite high.

🚩 A lot of universities DO NOT accept Level 3 English
Even worse if you have:
• Level 1 or 2 in Maths or Mathematical Literacy
• OR an APS below 20
• OR a Diploma pass

🚩 If you have Level 1 or 2 in Mathematical Literacy or Mathematics, you will need:
• A Bachelor pass with English Level 4 and at least 22 APS
OR
• A Diploma pass with 24 APS plus English Level 4

I have been assisting people with Career Guidance and University Applications for the past 5-6 years now and I can confidently tell you this:
With these marks, you have a much better chance of being accepted at TUT compared to other universities.

TUT is one of the very few universities that accommodate students with lower marks (alongside UNISA).

💡If you want to be accepted at TUT, you need to make sure:
✅️ You qualify
✅️ Your application is done correctly
✅️ You apply on time

Please note:
You CAN still apply at other universities, but I highly recommend that you put TUT at the top of your list and apply as soon as possible.

parents and guardians, PLEASE encourage your children to start working on their University Applications for next year NOW!

Passing Grade 12 with excellent marks is important, but applying at Universities IN TIME so that you have somewhere to study after Matric is also very important.

A lot of Grade 12s (and parents) focus way too much on passing Grade 12 and completely forget that they need to submit University applications for the following year.

If you don't apply to any universities while in Grade 12, you'll end up sitting at home in a Gap year, while you have excellent marks. And trust me, there's nothing as painful as passing Matric well, only to sit at home the whole year because you did not apply at any Universities and you have nowhere to study.

If you are in Grade this year (Class of 2026), you are supposed to work on your university applications for next year this year, while you are still in Grade 12. Do not make the mistake of waiting until you are done with your final exams, or even worse waiting until you get your final results in January to start working on your applications. Applications will be closed!

University Applications for 2027 have been open since March 2026. As we speak 21 universities across South Africa are already open for 2027 applications. You should be working on your applications already.

The majority of Universities in South Africa require Grade 11 Final Results (Term 4) when you're applying as a Grade 12 learning. That being said, you DO NOT have to wait for your June, September or even final NSC Statement or Certificate.

Only a few universities consider Grade 12 June results (less than 5). The rest of the Universities require grade 11 results and its Compulsory.

Please note: Grade 12 Term 1 results are NOT required, you cannot apply with these.

Please start applying now so that you don't end sitting at home on an unplanned gap year next year.

If you need guidance and assistance with your University Applications for 2027, feel free to WhatsApp me on 063 592 2246

If you are a parent or guardian you are also welcome to Whatsapp me for assistance with your children's applications.

I have assisted OVER 200 Students to get into Universities across South Africa since 2020. My business page has over 200 recommendations from parents and students who l have assisted with University Applications, you are welcome to check these out before you contact me.

Send me a message and let me help you avoid a Gap year next year!
