Injury Blow For Kaizer Chiefs:

Thabiso Monyane has joined Langelihle Phili on the Kaizer Chiefs injury list.

The right-back, who has featured in all 5 of Amakhosi's matches this season, is out for four weeks.

Thulani Mabaso and Khanyisa Mayo remain sidelined as well.

Kaizer Chiefs Coach Issues Mosimane Warning:

Fernando Da Cruz has given his view on Pitso Mosimane’s return as Bafana Bafana coach after Hugo Broos.

Da Cruz said Mosimane “had a lot of success at club level” and “has the qualities to be in this position.”

The French-Portuguese tactician added that it is “good to have a local coach” in the national team.

However, Da Cruz warned that Mosimane “will need time to set up his things” after taking over Broos’ work.

Kaizer Chiefs Media Open Update:

Kaizer Chiefs opened the doors of their Naturena base to the media on Wednesday morning as they stepped up preparations for Sunday's Betway Premiership encounter against Siwelele FC.

1. Phili in a cast
New winger Langelihle Phili missed training with his left leg in a cast. He scored vs Sundowns but will now be out for a few weeks.

2. Left-back crisis easing
Nkanyiso Shinga, Bradley Cross and Kabelo Nkgwesa all trained. Shinga played in a friendly recently. Paseka Mako still out with arm in a sling.

3. Dortley edging closer
Rushwin Dortley took part in some drills with the ball. Big boost after Chiefs struggled building from the back vs Richards Bay.

4. Concerns at centre-back
Miguel Inácio was present but did not train. He has played all 5 games this season. Only Thabo Moloisane and Zitha Kwinika are fully available.

5. Da Silva and Mayo sit out
Flávio da Silva and Khanyisa Mayo did not train. Mayo last played competitively on 18 April and looks short of match fitness.

6. No sign of Thabo Cele
Cele remains contracted but is not part of Fernando da Cruz's plans and was absent again from the first team session.

Pitso Mosimane Has Been Warned By His Boss!

Danny Jordaan immediately warned there will be “little room for error.”

Bafana Bafana will face Guinea, Kenya and Eritrea, but the SAFA president said rankings mean nothing: “It depends on the 11 players on the field.”

Jordaan called the first qualifier “close to” a must-win, the match that will “set the path” for this second reign.

Then he closed the curtain with a challenge: “So let the work begin.”

Bafana must finish above Guinea and Eritrea in Group D, because Kenya are already qualified as hosts and only one other team goes through to the 2027 AFCON finals.
