The Foundation Series Β· Episode 3 β€” Not Yours to Finish

Some races are relays, not sprints. Nobody questions the first runner for not crossing the finish line. They ran their leg. They passed the baton. That was the whole job.

So why do we treat our own lives differently? Why do we chase a finish line that was never assigned to us, and call it failure when we don't reach it in one lifetime?

This episode asks the question I avoided for years. What if the wealth, the house, the name everybody remembers, isn't mine to build? What if my only job is to lay one floor so solid that the one who comes after me doesn't have to start from rubble?

It took me a while to be able to say that out loud without it feeling like giving up.

The Foundation Series Β· Episode 2 β€” A Different Foundation
The person you are comparing yourself to is not building on your foundation. They are building on a completely different site, and you cannot see how deep theirs actually goes.
This episode is about the first person in a family to graduate university, when that family's whole journey started in a village. It doesn't matter how brilliant they are. There will still be limitations, not because of ability, but because of how many floors were already standing before they broke ground. Watch what happens to the generation after them. Fewer limitations. More room to grow. That's not luck. That's a foundation getting deeper with every honest generation that builds on it.
This is a lesson I had to learn myself.

The Foundation Series Β· Episode 1 β€” In His Loins

Stop competing with people whose story you don't even know.

You compare your year two to somebody's year ten, your empty hands to what looks like their full ones, and it eats at you. But you are not running the same race. You don't know what foundation they were handed. You don't know what somebody before them already moved to make room for.

This episode is about where that foundation actually comes from. It's about my father, who left his village on a truck with nothing, refusing to repeat a cycle his own family had lived for generations. It's about what it means to be born into a story somebody already changed before you ever arrived.

This is my story.

This is why there is a scarcity of wife material, and nobody wants to talk about the real reason. Watch this episode to the end.

Wake Up Call Series Β· Full Episode 3 β€” We Are Losing the Girls

The yahoo economy did not just recruit young men. It created a market. Young men with sudden money and no values to anchor it will spend it on different women every weekend. And for a young woman with no example of a different life, the compass does not just break. It gets crushed under the same survival pressure crushing everyone around her.

This is where it starts. A girl who cannot afford sanitary pads. A girl who dropped out when the fees became impossible. A girl who has never once seen a woman from her own community become something she could point to and say, that could be me.
Then the wrong offer arrives, and it does not look like destruction. It looks like relief.

Some of them are impregnated and abandoned. Some are used for rituals. Some survive all of it and are still left useless for themselves and family. Useless to a future that was stolen before they understood what was happening.

This is the real reason. Not that the girls started bad, but nothing was ever built to protect them.

Then there is Rachael.

Rachael is in Kwara State right now, doing the work nobody films. No glamour. No applause. Just showing up every week for girls who have never had anyone show up for them. Being the example nobody gave her. Creating the safe space that was not there when she needed it herself.

Watch to the end and you will understand why someone like Rachael is needed in your community too. And why what she is doing can be replicated everywhere, if we build the infrastructure around it.

Episodes 1 and 1b were about the boys. The young men. The ones we are losing to the wrong pipeline.

But there is another half of this story that nobody is talking about. And the silence around it is doing as much damage as the thing itself.

Today I am breaking that silence.

This episode is for the girls. The ones growing up in communities where the doors exist but nobody ever showed them where to look. No mentor. No signposter. No example of what is possible for a girl who comes from where they come from.

One of our community workers told me something recently that I have not been able to stop thinking about. You need to hear what she said.

Episode 3 of the Wake-Up Call Series is live now.

This one is different. Watch it. Then share it with every woman you know.

The children we invest in today are the same people who will become our doctors, our governors, our police officers, our nurses, and our neighbours when we are old.

When we no longer have the strength to fight for ourselves. When we cannot drive ourselves to the hospital. When we depend on someone else to make the decisions that affect whether we live well or suffer quietly.

The young person you ignore today is the government worker who will process your pension tomorrow. The young person you fail to build today is the leader who will run the country you retire into.

This is not charity. This is the most practical investment any generation can make. You are not investing in their future. You are investing in yours.

What kind of under-30s are we building? That question does not belong to the young people. It belongs to us. And the answer is being written right now by what we build β€” or what we fail to build.

Wake Up Call Series Β· Episode 2 (Full) β€” How He Got There

Dosu was not recruited by crime. He was recruited by belonging.

This is the full episode. It goes deeper than the short version. The recruitment. The trap. The demographic time bomb. And what we are building to stop it.

Watch it to the end. Then tell me β€” what was the space or person that made you feel seen when you were young?

This is the part I need people to understand.

The system that pulls young people into cultism, into crime, into destruction, it was not an accident. It was built. Structured. Intentional. It has a pipeline. It has recruiters. It has a curriculum.

The legitimate opportunities exist. They are out there. But they are scarce, hidden, and most young people in these communities do not even know they are available. Meanwhile, the wrong system has a mentor on every corner, a signposter in every neighbourhood, a clear path from recruitment to reward.

That is the gap. Not that there is nothing good. But that good has not been built with the same structure, or the same consistency as the thing it is competing against.

That is what Epponomy is doing. Building the mentors, the signposters, the infrastructure that prepares and forms young people to become the best version of themselves β€” before the wrong system gets there first.

This is why we always say we cannot do it alone. No single organisation can solve something this big, and we have never claimed to. We are open to collaboration, and just as open to others taking their own approach entirely, as long as it tackles the same problem and moves us toward the same goal.
