Established in 1996 by Founder Mario Biagi. The club has won at least one title every year since 1997, Including 2 premier league titles.
Glenvista Cricket Club was started in October 1996. The Ethos of the Club was and still is to allow both children and adults of all ages and race the opportunity to play this lovely game. It has taken a significant amount of time , money and energy to put the transformation programme in place, but finally Glenvista can be proud that we are now a fully integrated club. Our junior development
program is of a very high standard and we have children from the age of six to fifteen being coached by qualified coaches. Cricket coaches are few and far between resulting in incorrect cricketing skills being taught, or schools offering no cricket at all. As a club we endeavour to rectify this, and proudly, we are succeeding. Among the senior players we have teams which comprise totally from previously disadvantaged groups. These are coached and led by a qualified coach. Many of these players are collected and taken to games as they have no means of transport. We supply lunches and drinks for each team on a Sunday. This season the Club has six teams in structured leagues. We pride ourselves in keeping approximately 100 youngsters off the streets every weekend. Our 1st team has won the Premier League twice in the last five years. This with six previously disadvantaged players in the team. All but one has come through our development programme. As we are a non profit organisation we rely solely on the generosity of sponsors. All sponsorship is put back into cricket. We use the funds for cricket kit, preparation of fields, lunches, balls etc.
