Hello everyone, this is Eddie founder of SASFA. Unfortunately, I have an important announcement regarding our upcoming Slapfighting event, initially scheduled for November 2nd at the Local Bar and Kitchen."

"I regret to inform you that, due to concerns raised by law enforcement, we have no choice but to postpone this event until further notice. Law enforcement contacted both myself and the venue, explaining they had received credible information from multiple sources about potential threats to public safety at this event.

This threat of violence stems from ongoing tension on social media, where a rival Slapfighting organization has been making inflammatory posts against SASFA and its members. Sadly, this has escalated, with a large group now reportedly planning to disrupt the November 2nd event."

I’d also like to address some confusion out there. Certain individuals have made claims of being targeted by haters, when in fact, this situation began with their own response video. In this video, they insulted a SASFA member’s recent TV interview, using homophobic slurs and hate speech.

Things spiraled from there, ultimately forcing the event’s postponement due to public safety concerns. Another video, which law enforcement also brought to my attention, shows an associate of this rival organization repeatedly assaulting an audience member who hadn’t even retaliated. Actions like these go against everything SASFA stands for."

Since there’s been some misinformation about the origins of Slapfighting in South Africa, let’s clear that up. I first got the idea for local Slapfighting back in mid-2019 when I was managing a lodge with a bar. I saw some Slapfighting videos online and thought it would be exciting to bring that to our local community.

Then, during the pandemic, all events were halted. But once restrictions lifted, I started promoting it again, and the response was incredible. Realizing my venue was too small, I reached out to a good friend who owns Chicago’s Piano Bar, and our first official event took place there on May 29, 2022.

For those now trying to take credit for that initial success—let me remind you that you specifically asked for permission to help, which I gladly granted. No, I haven’t forgotten who contributed and I have not forgotten you repeatedly asking my permission until I granted it. And to further clarify, my first radio interview about Slapfighting, which I have recorded, was on October 30, 2021."

"Before we wrap up, I’d like to read a small portion of the agreement I prepared for the post-fight event, just to reinforce the commitments we made to each other and to SASFA’s growth."

DIVISION OF SHARES IN SASFA

When considering the division of shares in SASFA I took the following into account: Without all of our collective efforts the first event which has now given us a marketable product would not have taken place. Based upon this I have decided upon the following: All profits to be divided equally amongst members.

Shares to be divided as follows

48% shares to be divided equally between Bobby, Danie, Shaun, Grant

52% shares to be held by Eddie

Each person present at this meeting who feels they have a better offer on the table regarding Slap Fighting or would prefer not to be limited by this agreement is free to decline it and to continue on their own and I wish them the best of luck in their future endeavors, however that being said I would like to continue as the group which has successfully done what so many others have tried to do and failed.
Well done on the last event and I look forward to a long and successful future ahead.

I feel that this shows my commitment to not only the sport of Slapfighting but to the people who had contributed to the first event, please take note the people who were having fun on social media saying they had never seen me doing anything for Slapfighting and referring to me as a fat f**k.
I started this sport in South Africa and gave them a marketable platform from which they prospered.
Here I must give credit where credit is due to Danie Van Heerden who has taken the sport international and brought it to the attention of our minister of sport Gayton McKenzie.
