Legends Cricket Club

Our Legends had an eventful week last week, Playing a double header and walking away victorious in both games. 🏏🏏

Game 1 was against an invitational side from Meyersdal, who are preparing for an upcoming Inter-provincial tournament, followed by a league competitor, Eagles.💥

Legends took the ball and restricted Meyersdal to 57, then went on to bat and posted a healthy 87 with a classy finish by Sai Reddy and Dean Plasket.😎

Eagles elected to have a bowl and conceded a hefty 140 runs, and where restricted to -3.🙆🏻‍♂️

All in all great performances by Legends yet again, 2 wins, 7 skins and lots of runs.🙌🏼

A special mention to Reddy for a starling contribution in game 1 being honored Man-of-the-Match (MoM) for game 2.🍺

Legends are officially back at the Midrand Action Sports arena and here's a quick catch-up on our first league match:

We took on the Macalegusha Royals in a much anticipated game, won the toss and chose to bowl.

Things started off seemingly slow for Legends but managed to restrict the Royals to a mere 24 runs. 🥎

We then took to the crease and our opening pair (Shastri Pillay and Sam Naidoo) had already achieved our overall target. The remaining batting pairs didn't hold back either, leading Legends to a total of 114. 🏏

All in all a good performance, securing all 4 skins.

A special mention to Desigan Moodley who claimed up Man-of-the-match (MoM), scoring 21 with the bat and scooping up 2 wickets with a total contribution of 21. 💫

The biological clock has ticked for a few of our Legends in recent weeks, wishing a Happy birthday to the following players: Naveshan Kisten, Sam Naidoo, Kyle Wilson and Jarryd Lloyd. 🥳

And so the season draws to a close, Legends pushed through to get to the finals and unfortunately could not execute on the day. MOAFUM_All Stars posted 112 and restricted Legends to 65.

What an accomplishment to make it to the finals, and looking forward to pursuing the next final 🏏
