REMINDER | Manual Applications No Longer Accepted

As of 01 April 2026, SACPLAN moved to a fully digital process to make registration simpler and more accessible for planners across South Africa.

The South African Council for Planners, in partnership with the University of the Free State, invites planners to submit papers for the December 2026 Special Issue of the Town and Regional Planning Journal.

SACPLAN encourages all registered planners to take this opportunity to contribute to the body of knowledge in the planning profession.

Over the past two days, the Council, together with the Department of Land Reform and Rural Development, convened a Strategic Planning Session dedicated to deliberating on the strategic direction of Council and enhancing service delivery to planners.

To ensure the success of the session in producing tangible outcomes, the session was split into commissions aligned to SACPLAN's committees. Each commission was assigned key focus areas and pressing issues to deliberate on, with all outcomes informing the strategic direction of the Council.

Central to the conclusion of the session was a firm focus on ensuring the implementation of deliberated outcomes, reaffirming the Council's mandate and remaining responsive to the key issues affecting the planning profession.
