🚨 Safety is our priority at the Koranna Trail Run Festival 🚨

Recently, the incredible team from SARZA (Search and Rescue South Africa) responded to a rescue operation involving hikers at Sentinel Car Park in the Northern Drakensberg.

We’re proud to announce that SARZA will form part of our safety team at the Koranna Trail Run Festival on 10 October.

From experienced mountain runners to first-time trail athletes, every participant deserves the confidence of knowing that a professional search and rescue team is on standby.

Adventure is what we do. Safety is how we do it.

Thank you, SARZA, for the work you do and for helping us keep our athletes safe on the mountain.

🔥 MEET YOUR 43KM SWEEPER — MARIETTE NIEUWOUDT! 🔥

When the kilometres get long and the legs get tired, this is someone you’ll be very happy to see on the trail! 💪⛰️
Mariette Nieuwoudt will be sweeping our 43km Koranna Ultra — and she brings a serious amount of endurance experience with her.

Her running résumé includes:
🏔️ Skyrun 65km
🏔️ Titanic Mountain Challenge 50km
🏔️ Hobbit 42km
🏔️ Alexandria Trails 42km
🏔️ Magoebas 50+km
🏔️ MacMac 50 Miler
🏔️ Two Oceans 56km
🏔️ Klipspringer Extreme 33km + 34km
…and MANY more tough trail kilometres!

And there’s another big bonus — Mariette is also a Registered Theatre Nurse. 🩺
Her job on race day? Keep moving forward, encourage those toughing it out at the back, and make sure no runner is left alone on the trail. ❤️

MEET YOUR 33KM SWEEPER – JOANITA LOMBARD!

When the legs get tired and the trail gets tough, it helps knowing someone experienced is right there with you.
We’re excited to introduce Joanita Lombard, who will be sweeping the 33km route at the Koranna Ultra Trail Run Festival! 🔥

Joanita is an experienced trail and road runner with some serious kilometres behind her:
