A rare and exclusive 4x4 evening under some of South Africa’s darkest skies.

The Bonniedale Sunset 4x4 + Stargazing Night Drive is a limited small-convoy experience at Bonniedale Wilderness Ranch, created for guests who want more than the average 4x4 outing.

The evening combines three experiences in one:

-Radio Guided Night Drive 4x4 Experience
Drive a guided self-drive 4x4 route through Bonniedale’s mountain terrain, with EcoTrek leading the convoy and guiding guests by radio.

-Bonsai Potjie Mountain Dining
A unique mountain dining experience served in the remote Outeniqua mountain range, with Bonsai Potjie as the main course, hosted by Erfenis/Heritage Restaurant

-Telescope Stargazing
Hosted by Sky Tours - Karoo & Garden Route Stargazing Experiences, giving guests a closer look at the moon, planets, stars and deep-sky objects when conditions allow.

This is a small-group experience, limited to only 3 guest vehicles per date.

Booking & weather policy:
Each booking includes a preferred date and a reserve date. If weather, trail safety or sky visibility is not suitable, the experience will be moved to the reserve date or another available date.

Full payment is required 7 days before the experience. Bookings not paid by the due date may be released.

Client date changes requested more than 7 days before the experience may be moved once, subject to availability.

Cancellations within 7 days are not refundable, as catering, stargazing, trail access, guides and convoy capacity are already committed. Bookings may be transferred to another suitable guest or vehicle, provided the vehicle meets the requirements.
