Change the oil not the environment
Used motor oil is one of the most toxic pollutants if disposed of irresponsibly. That’s why the Rose Foundation is working tirelessly to educate, collect, and recycle used oil across South Africa.
By recycling your oil, you're not just doing the right thing — you're protecting our soil, water, and future.
🔁Let’s keep oil out of our ecosystems.

It is estimated that South Africa generates an average of 120 million litres of used lubricant oil in a year. This is a large amount of used oil that, if not collected and recycled responsibly, could make its way into our environment. www.rosefoundation.org.za

Large motor workshops who have bulk storage facilities, are urged to accept used oil and related waste from private individuals. The workshops will be paid by collectors for the oil collected, so accepting oil from backyard mechanics is at no cost to them and it is the environmentally responsible thing to do. www.rosefoundation.org.za

The responsibility lies with used oil generators to ensure that the person who collects used oil is licensed, audited and can provide the legally required Safe Disposal Certificate and Hazardous Waste Manifest, and failure to do so can result in fines and prosecution of the generators and collectors. www.rosefoundation.org.za
