💦 ☀️Congratulations to one of our AquaPark members, Taylor Chaning-Pearce, who is about to compete this weekend at the 2026 IRONMAN World Championships in Kona, Hawaii ☀️💦

Taylor qualified at the South Africa Ironman Championships in Port Elizabeth and as the youngest qualifying South African athlete, she will compete in the Female 25-30 category.

She flew across at the end of last week and is making the most of the time to acclimatise and prepare for a gruelling day on Saturday 💪

We wish you everything of the best Taylor and we so are so proud to have been part of your preparation 🇿🇦 🌊

A huge congratulations to Chanel Veldsman, who has officially been selected to represent Team South Africa at the Dakar 2026 Youth Olympic Games! 🇿🇦

Eight years since South Africa last had swimmers competing at a Youth Olympic Games, Chanel will now have the incredible honour of wearing the green and gold at Dakar 2026. 🇿🇦

This is an incredibly proud moment, although she may no longer swim with Penguins, she will always be part of our club and someone we are proud to call our own, and we’ll be behind her all the way. 🐧✨

It has been a privilege to be part of her swimming journey, and seeing her reach this level is something very special. 🐧

Chanel, the whole Penguins family is behind you. We’ll be supporting you all the way to Dakar and everywhere else this fantastic journey will take you. ✨

It was so lovely to have Swanepoel with us for her final preparations prior to her first ever South Africa Short Course Championships last week. Kat hit some personal best times at the competition and set 5 new South African Records in her category.

Kat always brings warmth, positivity, insight and her wonderful humour on every visit and we love having her in our AquaPark family.

We were honoured to welcome our brand partner Tatjana Smith to AquaPark this week as part of her race preparation at SA Short Course - she didn’t get to race in Lane 4 but she did at least warm up in it 💪

Delighted to welcome the Infinity Swimming Academy team here for warm ups today 💪 💦

So proud of my SA Short Course Team so far. They have been such a strong, united team and have been supporting each other so beautifully.

Jemmah Roman made two A finals ( top 10 in SA ) in both the 50m Breaststroke and 200m Butterfly swimming amazing times of 33.12 and 2.24.33 respectively. She has made lots of other finals too.

Maddy Higgs really put a lot of effort into her preparation for this gala and it has shown in her performances. She made an A Final in the 200m Butterfly swimming a time of 2.25.70 and also swam a fast time in the 100m Backstroke clocking a 1.05.46.

Elijah Jackson, the only boy on the team, has had an incredible gala. He has swam personal best times in every single race he has participated in with his best performances being a 30.79 in the 50m Breaststroke and a 9 second PB in the 200 IM, swimming a 2.20.67.

Jaime Mote came back after a disappointing 100m Butterfly where she swallowed water, to record a B qualifying time for the World Short Course Championships in Beijing in the 200m Butterfly. She won a silver medal, clocking a personal best time of 2.12.68. She also finished 4th in the 50m Freestyle in a fast 25.97.

Lize-Marie Kruger has had some encouraging performances in the 200 IM and 50m Breaststroke. She has been one of the team leaders here, supporting and encouraging her friends all the way through the gala. We are looking forward to her 200m Breaststoke today.

Let’s keep it up team. So proud of you all!!

St Charles College Principal, Allen van Blerk, is taking on his own 100 Day Challenge to lose weight and get fit and raise money for charity.

Allen has committed to donate R1000 for every lost kilo and with our Head of Coaching, Theo Verster, as his trainer, we back him all the way!
