🥾🌊 A MORNING ON THE WILD SIDE OF THE EASTERN CAPE 🐋

Vanoggend het ek die kusroete aangepak van Kini Bay na Lorrie Bay en terug na Kini Bay.

Kilometers se asemrowende kuslyn, die geluid van die branders, vars seelug en daardie gevoel van vryheid wat net ’n goeie hike langs die see kan gee. 🌊🥾

Maar tussen die rotse en branders het ons op ’n onverwagse en hartseer stukkie natuur afgekom, ’n walvis wat op die kus uitgespoel het. 🐋

Dit is oomblikke soos hierdie wat jou weer herinner hoe wild, kragtig en onvoorspelbaar die see kan wees.

Ons Oos-Kaapse kuslyn het soveel stories om te vertel. ❤️🌊

Cape Recife Lighthouse. Where the Ocean Meets the Sky 🌅

As the sun slowly disappeared beyond the horizon, the Cape Recife Lighthouse came alive, its beacon shining brightly over the waters of Algoa Bay. For more than 170 years, this lighthouse has guided sailors safely home through rough seas, storms, and dark nights.
Standing on these windswept dunes, you can feel the power of nature. The crashing waves, endless beaches, colourful skies, and fresh ocean air remind us to pause and appreciate the beauty around us.

Every sunset here tells a different story. Some people come to photograph it, some come to walk the beach, and others simply come to watch another perfect Eastern Cape day come to an end.

Cape Recife is more than a lighthouse, it's a place of history, adventure, and unforgettable memories.

A Walk Through History, Pearson Conservatory, St George's Park 🌿🏛️

Hidden in the heart of St George's Park in Gqeberha stands one of the city's most beautiful historic treasures, the Pearson Conservatory.

Officially opened on 12 September 1882, it is one of the oldest surviving Victorian conservatories in South Africa. Built with support from the Cape Government and named after former Port Elizabeth Mayor John Pearson, it has welcomed visitors for well over a century.

Walking through its elegant glasshouse feels like stepping back in time. Sunlight pours through the glass roof, highlighting the intricate ironwork, peaceful fountains, and carefully maintained collection of plants. Outside, the magnificent old trees surrounding the conservatory create a tranquil escape from the busy city.

Today, after careful restoration, the Pearson Conservatory continues to preserve both botanical beauty and the rich heritage of Gqeberha. It's a place where history, architecture, and nature come together in perfect harmony.

Sometimes the best adventures aren't far from home they're the places that remind us how much history and beauty surround us every day.

Another fantastic day exploring the beauty of Gqeberha! 🌿🥾

We enjoyed an easy 8 km hike through the beautiful Settlers Park and St George's Park, discovering peaceful forest trails, giant trees, wooden walkways, historic gardens, and exciting river crossings along the way.

Every bend in the trail revealed something different—from calm reflections in the water to the thrill of stepping across the river on the stone crossing. It was a reminder that some of the most beautiful adventures are right on our doorstep.

A big thank you to everyone who joined the hike and made it another memorable morning. Every trail has a story, every crossing brings a little adventure, and every photograph captures a moment worth remembering.

The historic Mackay Bridge, spanning the beautiful Sundays River near Colchester in the Eastern Cape, has stood quietly for generations. Although it's now closed to vehicles, it remains a reminder of the people, journeys, and memories that once crossed it every day.

Below, the Sundays River flows peacefully toward the Indian Ocean, reflecting the changing colours of the sky. It's a place where nature slows you down, where every sunrise and sunset paints a different masterpiece, and where photographers can appreciate the beauty of light, shadows, and history coming together.

Sometimes the best photographs aren't just about what you see, they're about what you feel.

🏉🥃 What a fantastic Saturday evening!

A heartfelt thank you to Simone and Paul for opening your home and hosting such a wonderful social evening. We had a great time watching the Springboks, enjoying delicious food, loads of snacks, sharing plenty of laughs, and creating wonderful memories with great friends.

A special thank you to Ryno for introducing us to his whisky smoker kit. Watching it in action for the first time and experiencing how the different wood chip flavours transformed the whisky made for a unique and memorable experience.

Evenings like these remind us that the best moments in life are shared with good friends, great food, exciting rugby, and unforgettable conversations.
