Mark Fish Seals Talent Pathway Deal With Charlton Athletic Bafana Bafana legend Mark Fish and his foundation signed an exciting partnership deal with Charlton Athletic, a collaboration that will expand the club's footprint and uplift local talent.

The former Charlton Athletic manager, who led the club to a Premier League return and went on to secure their highest-ever top-flight finish (7th), is now part of the Charlton Athletic Talent ID tour.

Currently in KZN with Mark Fish, Curbishley is giving local players a rare chance to be seen, coached, and assessed by a true Premier League figure.

The Football Union is extremely proud to be associated with such a momentous occasion and platform for our SA youth footballers 🇿🇦

The Charlton Athletic South Africa Talent ID Tour in partnership with The Football Union & The Mark Fish Foundation continued tonight with another high performance training clinic, followed by a coach education workshop attended by over 20 local coaches. 🇿🇦🏴

From player development sessions on the pitch to in-depth discussions off it, the programme continues to create opportunities for both players and coaches to learn directly from UEFA licensed Charlton Athletic staff.

A massive thank you to all the players, coaches and parents who continue to support the project and help us grow the game together.

Charlton Athletic conducted high intensity skills based sessions at The Football Union Partner Clubs - Blue Hills United & Glenwegians The Hills during the course of this week giving players the unique opportunity to work under UEFA A Licensed coaches from England, experiencing elite-level coaching methods and training environments right here in South Africa. A brilliant week of development, intensity, and exposure for the next generation.

Top level conversations, knowledge sharing and sessions led by coaches who have worked for decades inside the professional game. Massive privilege for our players and local coaches to spend time on the field with the Charlton Athletic staff and South African legend Mark Fish.

From academy methodology and session detail to player management and standards, this week is about bringing real football experience directly onto the training ground.

The Charlton Athletic Talent ID Tour kicked off this morning with 60 players in Pretoria. ⚽️🔥

Top energy, high intensity, and a proper look at what it takes to train and compete at the next level. The 3 UEFA A Licence coaches got straight to work, pushing players technically and mentally while identifying standout talent across the group.

This is exactly what the tour is about. Real coaching, real feedback, real opportunity.

From The Valley to AFCON glory 🇿🇦

Mark Fish isn’t just a name, he’s part of South African football history. A key figure in the 1996 AFCON-winning squad, Fish built his reputation as a fearless defender before taking his career to Europe, including a spell at Charlton Athletic. Strong, composed, and a natural leader, he played at the highest level and understands exactly what it takes to succeed.

Now he joins us as a Guest Coach, bringing that experience directly onto the field.
