What is the ✨️ lymphatic system ✨️?
It is our bodies lymph fluid drainage system. It consists of a complex network of lymphatic vessels, tissues, organs, and glands. It is a subsystem of our immune system and is complementary to our circulatory system. The lymphatic system removes excess fluid from the body tissues and returns it to the bloodstream.
The lymphatic system doesn't have its own pump, like the bloodstream has the heart. We can help pump the lymphatic system by:
- practicing deep breathing
- moving
- special types of massage

I saw the yoga version of this post on social media a while back and it really hit home.
We often try to be perfect in the pilates world, but we are just people trying our best. We don't know everything. And it's really refreshing to say it.

There are many things that make online pilates great:

We all want the maximum benefits from our pilates practise but this doesn't always mean doing big muscle movements, sometimes the small movements or static stretches are beneficial too!

These are the principles of pilates that I find key to my pilates practise!
Balance - not only balancing in my exercises but balance in all parts of my life.
Awareness- being aware of my body's shape and feelings while I exercise.
Control - staying in control of my movements while I practise them and moving slowly with intention.
Flow- moving intuitively!
