* my sussie is verloof *

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength, while loving someone deeply gives you courage!

I pray that you will deeply love one another so your days will be filled with strength and courage!

As ek na julle 2tjies saam kyk is ek oneindig trots.

Mag jy jou lewe leef in one of pursuit for all that is Holy, pure and beautiful! Ek weet jy sal ‘n amazing vrou wees, want jy is reeds dit as dogter, sussie en vriendin!

Dyllie, thank you for being solid, for loving my sister unconditionally and for being one of the kindest people I know!

Pas mekaar mooi op en bly altyd so lief vir mekaar 💜💜💜

Remember the best part of life’s journey is who you get to spend it with 💜

Love yousss lots x

So as a team we’ve been challenged to mention 5 things people won’t really know about us!

There’s probably a lot people don’t know about me, as I tend to be quite private, but here goes 🙃

🌈 I have a slight(ok maybe more than slight) fear of dead birds and lizards, unfortunately as a child I was tortured by my younger sisters/ as they used to throw it on me whilst sleeping! Like who wouldn’t be traumatised 🤣

🌈When I was younger I use to be an avid poet, but haven’t written poems in the longest time!

🌈I am a closet Kurt Darren fan (maybe it should stay in the closet, but now you know 🤣)

🌈I have a little bit of an OCD problem for eg when pumping my bodywash- it needs to be exactly 15 squirts, and with my roll on it needs to be rolled on exactly 20 times under each arm! If you hit me on my one bum cheek, you need to hit me on the other one as well. Haha random I know!

🌈Something I didn’t even notice about myself, my sister actually just told me: Is when I praise and worship I always need to have my one hand on my heart ♥️

Which of these 5 surprised you? 🤪

And remember to name 5 things I didn’t know about you!

***Oh and bonus something you didn’t know about me, I can be quite goofy, swipe to see what I mean***

𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐦𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐣𝐨𝐲! ⁣

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve spent some time in and what a joy it has been. I went there to educate them, but in turn got educated. The passion these barbers display for their craft is tangible and ignites a fire within one’s own heart. ⁣

My wish for the industry is that everyone can have the love and passion for their careers some of these guys have! My wish is that it won’t be a comparison game, because when I look at these barbers I get a sense that there is always a seat left at the table for more! I see them celebrating one another’s strengths and uplifting one another’s weaknesses. They talk so much nonsense ( lol ), but they have grit and tenacity. They tease one another endlessly, but they embrace it with brotherly love. ⁣

I am 100% certain they also have their off days, but like the one barber said: We are all human, but one thing I’ve noticed is that if I start my day in a bad way, it will stay that way! So 𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘥𝘴𝘦𝘵 𝘥𝘦𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨. We have the choice to change how we feel, we have the choice to change our destinies and we have the choice to turn a job into a passion! ⁣

𝘚𝘰 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘭 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘫𝘰𝘺. 𝘌𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘦𝘭𝘴𝘦’𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘨𝘵𝘩𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘪𝘵, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘯𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘲𝘶𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘰𝘸𝘯! ⁣

𝐅𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐠𝐞 = 𝐅𝐨𝐢𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐠𝐞 😻😻😻⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝗪𝐡𝐲 𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐪𝐮𝐞 🖤⁣⁣
⁣⁣
This is a great way to get extra brightness vs a traditional balayage application with clay lightener which usually results in a warmer finish or more natural sun-kissed finish. And when done correctly it just gives you that beautiful expensive colour finish! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 😤⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘥𝘰 𝘐 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘪𝘳, 𝘴𝘰 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘣 𝘪𝘵 𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘪𝘦𝘳?? ⁣⁣
• Honestly following advice of shallow, shallow, deep! Starting midway on the length of hair start with 2 shallow strokes with your fine tooth comb and finish with a final dee stroke! It gives the most beautiful finish and is way easier to comb out at the basin! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐝✖️⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. Taking your sections too big - this can cause hard lines and a lot of warmth, because the lightener can not saturate properly. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. Not leaving enough negative space ( so not leaving enough hair behind, which means that your colour has no dimension and ends up looking like a flat one colour instead of a beautiful dimensional foilayage! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3. Not saturating the hair with enough lightener in your foil, super NB too use enough product. If you don’t it can cause blotchiness! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
4. Teasing too much!! – Makes that comb out super challenging and it also places unnecessary strain on the hair, making it fragile! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
5. Not finishing your foilayage with a beautiful rootshadow and toner: not only will it elevate your colour to the next level, but it will also create beautiful dimension and blend any harsh lines that might have been created! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
𝗪𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 ✔️⁣⁣
⁣⁣
1. Map out your sectioning, so you know exactly where to place your foils for maximum impact! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. Remember to keep depth in between- this will create contrast which will make the lighter colour pop! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3. Saturate the lightener well for maximum impact! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
4. Don’t over promise and under deliver! Always always always consult well and create realistic expectations! ⁣⁣

Have you ever accidentally coloured a client’s hair too RED? ( Yes, there is such a thing ) ⁣⁣
It is because you probably forgot the levelling system for a moment. I know I have done that when rushing in the past, and want to share how to avoid that by sharing what I’ve learnt and how I approach reds/coppers! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
Here are 3 things to remember:-⁣⁣
1. If you want an Orange COPPER use a Level 7 orange (always!) my favourites will always be 77/43 for that in your face bang of copper in Wella and then I love 7/44 in Kadus colour. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
2. If your target haircolour is Light Golden Copper use a Level 8 copper and Gold, firm fave will have to be 8/34 for luscious golden copper tones or 88/43 if you really want a copper that screams: “look at me”! ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
3. Red or Pink Coppers live at a Level 6 - this is my favourite level to create those eye catching vava voom reds ( anything darker always heads more towards berry tones, think plums and violety tones anything lighter tends to live more at a copper - think lightening curve ) ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
👠Pro- Formula - Roots Kadus 5/46, Ends Kadus 7/46 and 7/45 1:1 all with 20vol⁣⁣

Please swipe for the before on this beautiful transformation using only . ⁣

We did a combination of teasylights and babylights and tried to avoid the darker lowlights in between as much a possible. ( we did not want to expose unnecessary warmth by lifting the previous lowlights ) ⁣

We used Kadus True Blonde powder with 20vol for her teasy lights. Rinsed and used Kadus Colour Radiance Post Treatment before toning. We did a Rootshadow with Illumina 6/16 and 7/0 as a gloss and then toned with Illumina 9/60, 10/69 and 10/93. ⁣

I only started training recently, but I’m loving the results. Comment with a ♥️ if you agree! ⁣

We wanted to create beautiful dimension and give the client a low maintenance yet beautiful look! So we went for a traditional balayage using all freehand painting with the best and 12%. ⁣

We glossed with 6/97 to ensure that the colour is something extra special!
