On a cold and cloudy morning we went on our Spring walk. It did warm up and all completed the 21.1km. Some soldiers more wounded than otgers but all with high spirits. They showed real grit and determination. We are very proud of you all

Our Spring Walk is taking place on Sat 8 Sept at 6:00 here from the gym. The route is fairly easy and we stay in a group. No winners and no loosers. The best is it is freeeee! Plse let me know if you are interested to join us so we can have enough drinks at the end

It doesnt matter if you are fast or slow, it matters that you are taking part
It is not important if you go a short distance or a long distance, it is important to do it. Take part, get off the couch, put your tekkies on, get on your bike. Just do it

Bears hibernate....people dont. It normally only takes about 2min to warm up and then you are ready for your workout. Your body will thank you come spring.

So as you all know, or dont know, the gym has been putting out a challenge every month to motivate everyone to become a fitter and trimmer athlete/person.
We had a push up month, skipping rope month, core muscles month and June was our running month which started on 1June with the Global running day.
July is our "challenge yourself" month. Quite a few interesting challenges are happening as we speak. My challenge is starting today: 5km run/walk for 10 consecutive days which will give me a total of 50kms. As I am actually a cyclist this is a real daunting task, so check Strava, and keep your fingers crossed that I will cross the challenge line.

Today is Global Running Day! The challenge in the gym is to run at least one kilometer. ...which is not a lot. It will take you almost as long as drinking a cup of coffee....which is not long. Only a wee few hours left of 1June to run your km.
Tyrone was so excited about the challenge, he already did a 4,2km and then another 1,5km. But then again if it is not on Strava, it didnt happen.
Very very impressively Rodney did his kilometer before breakfast....wow!!
