Job Specification: PADI Dive Instructor/Assistant Dive Center Manager at The Manta Limited on Pemba Island, Zanzibar

Position: PADI Dive Instructor/Assistant Dive Center Manager

Company: The Manta Limited Location: Pemba Island, Zanzibar

Salary: $1500 USD net per month after taxes

Accommodation: Provided at The Manta Resort Food: Provided at The Manta Resort

Living Services: Included at The Manta Resort

Flights: 2 annual flights home to South Africa provided by The Manta Limited

Immigration Services: The Manta Limited will take care of and pay for temporary resident and work permit for Zanzibar

Responsibilities:

Conduct diving courses and provide training to divers of various skill levels, adhering to international safety standards and guidelines.
Lead and supervise diving activities, ensuring the safety and well-being of divers.
Educate divers about the local marine ecology and biology, promoting environmental awareness and responsible diving practices.
Assist with the day-to-day operations of the dive center, including equipment maintenance, inventory management, and record keeping.
Provide excellent customer service by addressing divers' inquiries, concerns, and requests in a professional and friendly manner.
Promote dive center services and actively contribute to marketing initiatives to attract new customers.
Assist in managing dive center staff, including scheduling, training, and performance evaluation.
Participate in environmental conservation efforts, such as reef monitoring and coral restoration projects.
Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the local marine environment, including dive sites, marine life, and potential risks.
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
Assist the dive center manager in administrative tasks, financial management, and reporting.
Qualifications:

Certified Dive Instructor PADI with a minimum of 2 years of teaching experience.
Strong knowledge of diving theory, techniques, and safety protocols.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively educate divers about the local marine ecology and biology.
Proven leadership skills and the ability to work well in a team.
Knowledge of dive center operations, including equipment maintenance and inventory management.
Customer-oriented mindset and a passion for delivering exceptional service.
Fluency in English (spoken and written) is required, knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
Experience in dive center management or related roles is preferred.
Familiarity with the marine life and dive sites in the Zanzibar region is strongly desired.
Valid First Aid and CPR certifications.
Must be eligible to work in Zanzibar and obtain the necessary work permit and temporary resident status.
