GXCC RACING UPDATE

It is with a very heavy heart that we need to share an important update.

As communicated to our members via email last week, after the first three events of the 2026 season (GXCC Round 1 & 2 and the national cross country), GXCC is unfortunately facing a significant financial shortfall. We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to those who responded to our email last week with ideas, proposals, and offers of support. Your willingness to step forward means a great deal to us, and we are currently engaging with you as we work through possible solutions.

Despite our best efforts, the reality is that the cost of hosting events currently far exceeds the income generated, and continuing under these circumstances would place the club in an even more dire position.

In addition to the financial pressure, we are also facing major logistical challenges, including securing suitable venues during harvesting season and navigating ongoing foot and mouth disease restrictions.

After careful consideration, we have made the extremely difficult decision to cancel Round 3.

This is not a decision we have taken lightly. GXCC has always been about passion, community, and creating a space where riders and families can come together to do what they love. Right now, our priority is to take a step back, stabilise the club financially, and ensure that we can build a sustainable future for GXCC.

We are actively working behind the scenes to:
β€’ Secure additional sponsorship
β€’ Reassess how we structure future events to ensure sustainability

We are calling on our community and the broader business sector to partner with us. Whether through sponsorship of specific event costs, series partnerships, or any form of support, your involvement can play a crucial role in keeping GXCC alive. We have various sponsorship opportunities available and would greatly appreciate the opportunity to engage with any interested individuals or businesses.

A further update will be shared regarding the status of Round 4, the way forward with regards to the club and regional championships, as well as the remainder of the 2026 season.

GXCC is more than just racing β€” it’s a community β€” and our goal is to make sure that this community has a future.

If you have any queries, please feel free to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
