🥾 A great session yesterday at Rietfontein Nature Reserve. Some gentle hills and rocky areas always help with balance, dexterity and fitness training.

🏃‍♀️Today some of the ladies took on the 12km at Run the Renoster, an annual event that we like to support.

🦏Today is also the end of Run Limitless in aid of Rhino adoption. Tomorrow we start a new challenge.

Bradden Hiking Stevens and I have the privilege of guiding 48 young learners on their Bronze The President's Award for Youth Empowerment adventurous journey for the next 3 days for Awesome Oddventures.

Camping, hiking, connecting, growing.

This weekend I got to do what I love most. A 10km hike at Vergenoeg Nature Reserve & Hiking Trail on Saturday in aid of Vulpro and10km trail run at The Big Red Barn barn for 𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗙𝗶𝘁

Having not run much for a while, yesterday was hard. I had to keep reminding myself of the adage 'when your legs are tired, run with your heart'. The same is true in life too . . .

𝗪𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗱 𝘄𝗲 '𝗛𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗙𝗶𝘁' 𝘁𝗼𝗱𝗮𝘆?

The Big Red Barn was our pick for today. Most of us chose 10km for our fitness session. The fast, flat trails allow for focus on speed and endurance, and we did just that.

And of course, a well deserved coffee afterwards.

This group of HikeFit-ters fill my cup after week. We hike/walk/run. We connect and chat and laugh. What more you could you want?

𝗦𝗼𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀, hiking at Vergenoeg Nature Reserve & Hiking Trail then visiting Vulpro is one of Go Hiking SA favourite experiences.

And yesterday was no different. . .

15 guests took on the beautiful trails at 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗲𝗴. After a hard climb, sitting on top of the mountain watching the vultures launch off the cliffs into the thermals was magical. On cue, they circled above us, becoming more and more curious. What a special encounter. Thank you Bradden, Alistair and Robert for your amazing guiding, as always.

Our guests were then treated to a visit to 𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗽𝗿𝗼, Africa's only dedicated vulture rehabilitation program. Thank you Alistair for sharing your passion with us.

I know for sure that 15 guests and 4 guides left yesterday touched by these incredible creatures and we look forward to our next 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝗲𝗴/𝗩𝘂𝗹𝗽𝗿𝗼 experience.
