USA sequel.

Expectations were high with this one. We felt that we had been unlucky in the first encounter and fancied ourselves for the replay.

We started well and despite a few trademark misses went up 1-0 into the break. An Olivier, Mulligan, Bredin combination with good finishing from Gauldie ensured it so, in front of good support from their faithful (Leanne, Chantal, Daniel and Bobbi) and the 55+ side.

But the men from manhattan (and elsewhere in the US) turned it around in the second half. Their cowbell got louder as the 40+ tired and made mistakes. They scored 3 well worked goals which went unanswered and ended up the better side. The sequel’s final chapter was same as that of the first encounter.

SA40+ to play the Aussies again for 7 and 8. The Aussies had had a dreadful (by their standards) Quarter final and could not match the Germans either. They had a point to prove.
