โTis the season ๐๐ง
Hey hey, itโs been a minute friends. Just popping in for a little life recap in this rollercoaster, plot twist year ๐ข
๐ท๐บ I lived in Russia for 3 months
๐ I got a full time contract
โ I resigned from my full time job in November
๐ I moved back to Stellenbosch
๐คน I am back in the realms of freelancing
๐I am taking some time off to rest (still working but not at full capacity and for a while)
๐ก I moved in with two amazing humans
I am so grateful for the adventures Iโve experienced, the community I have, and the genuine love, support and kindness I have received. God has been close, kind, faithful and so gracious to me. Though there have been many obstacles, many mistakes and a lot of learning there has also been sweet redemption and restoration.
I cannot wait to coauthor more chapters with God ๐๏ธ

Everything is not always as it seems in the digital marketing world. Things may look like a Matcha latte but it really tastes like seaweed ๐
Three things I have learned this week:
1. You will always be navigating different communication styles - keep things clear from your side, even if it feels repetitive, clarify and follow up.
2. I need to brush up on my industry lingo.
3. Stick to your go-to Chai Latte order.
Keep swimming yโall! ๐

Whoโs at your table? ๐ฝ๏ธ
In reflecting on work and navigating the rhythms of partnering with people it is so important to consider whoโs at your table.
๐น Who do you serve? And who do they serve?
๐ฒ What do they contribute to the community, work environment and leadership?
๐ฅ How do they approach challenges?
๐จ Do they care about the people?
๐ซ Do they understand how to serve you?
These are important questions I have considered when partnering with clients. It is very easy to lead without compassion, to run with your own agenda, and to not share in health of building sustainably.
I think we need to check the guest list to our table regularly. In work and persons life life, because we get busy and we could be adding more seats than we should.
What question do you feel stands out to you most?
P.S. Swipe for the delicious Cup of Joy, I had the privilege of enjoying from ๐ฅฐ โ๏ธ

Grateful for the year with Ezrah ๐ฑ
Joining an NPO team as a creative is as rewarding as it is challenging to navigate. Iโve been learning what it looks like to serve on healthy teams under ethical leadership and how to best communicate boundaries and effort of tasks.
It is not easy being the sole person on the creative team as youโre often juggling more than one role - attending workshops, producing content, managing online channels, planning, developing strategies and some operational meetings.
You essentially need to be everywhere online, in a team and present as a member of the NPO community - for more than one NPO ๐คนโโ๏ธ
Working with Mariรซtte has been an absolute joy. Because we have navigated the ever-changing waters together. Her mentorship has been invaluable and her making room for me to grow and learn has been restorative.
Journeying with Ezrah has brought great perspective for approaching ethics in relationship, the need for clear and transparent communication, the importance of rules of engagement and supporting your team beyond the role.
Excited to see where Ezrah sows in the next season ๐ชด

Life update ๐คนโโ๏ธ
- I have been working with two new clients writing blogs and impact stories โ๏ธ
- I unfortunately terminated a contract with a long-term client ๐
๐ปโโ๏ธ
- I have been much less active here because I am also heading into a new season of trusting God in my career ๐ญ
- I may or may not be moving (again) ๐ฆ
- I travelled to Ireland for 3 weeks ๐ฎ๐ช
- Then travelled locally again ๐ and have since been stirred more to go to the nations ๐ค
- I have been working less and resting more
- I have been giving myself to more active efforts surrounding human trafficking ๐ชง
- I have been engaging more with people through ministry ๐ค
It has certainly been a wild few months but still so grateful and expectant for the unfolding ๐

So encouraged to share my first article for SCAN - Stellenbosch Civil Advocacy Network! I am partnering with SCAN to share stories of impact surrounding the collaborative efforts toward socio-economic change in our diverse Stellenbosch community.
Collaboration is key to collectively bridging the socio-economic divide. There is still limited access to resources, skills development and safe spaces for our vulnerable communities.
We need to tell the stories but we also need to join the effort. There is much work still do and collaboration is good foundation for sharing knowledge, resources and opportunities.
This is a necessary conversation. How do you think we can better foster sustainable collaboration in Stellenbosch?
In this article we acknowledge the effort of training4changeS in their mission of holistic community transformation through the participation of sport and life skills. Grateful to have had the opportunity to speak to Daniel Thomae about the journey so far!
