Take note of what the writer is saying. I met him when we played against his Royal Indians touring side in an over 50’s match here in Cape Town. From a very young age he played with and against boys and later men who went on to represent India with distinction. He chose a business career and became very successful in that field, otherwise he could easily have been counted among those same stars.
Even at his age he is still playing highly competitive cricket and often represents India in his respective age-group teams.
What I admire most about this man is the dedication he now shows in retirement by helping young players pursue their dreams. Listen to the masters and learn from their experience.

A couple of parents recently chatted with me about their sons looking good in the nets, and then failed during matches. I reminded them about the fact that in the nets you only had to focus on what happened right in front of you. During a match your have something that could influence your batting 360° around you.
