Because many of you knew Rob....

Yesterday, my friend Rob Crawford died. He was a legend. We had so many amazing times together, mainly related to the 4x4 industry. The best 4x4 trainer I have ever worked with... A true gentleman - with an awfully wicked sense of humor. We have been friends for over 20 years, and never a cross word or an argument. The first time we met was a rainy day in the Cape winter where we explored all the 4x4 tracks in Cape Town for a Jeep project that was looming. It was a magical day that I will remember forever - filled with beautiful views, glorious mud, Rob's little Rubicon and laughter - so much laughter. From that day forward we were firm friends. So many, many long distance conversations - and some really great fireside chats. The type where you solve the problems of the world with the help of a great whisky. You will be deeply missed... My dear friend Rob, go ride with the angels now. You will never be forgotten...

The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa

Dark comes quickly on the Zambezi. After our cruise, we enjoyed a simply delicious dinner at The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa restaurant, and then it was off to dreamland in anticipation of the next day’s border crossing into Botswana… Africa isn't always about "Roughing it" 😉

To continue with our saga... On arriving at The David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Spa, we literally got the red carpet treatment onto the Lady Livingstone for an afternoon sunset cruise…

Last week Sunday, we got to fly into Zambia, landing in Livingston, for a recce & an article. When you fly SafAir, a flight to Livingston costs roughly the same as a flight to Cale Town - so it’s affordable… Although only four days, and I landed back in South Africa on Wednesday, it was one of those once-in-a-lifetime trips! Will publish more shortly…
