Whether we believe it or not words carry power. Think of how you feel when someone tells you that they love you, depend on you, respect you etc?
It triggers a feeling of confidence and joy on the other hand what happens when someone tells you that what you are doing is rubbish, you are not a man enough to excel, you do not stand a chance to win etc
Discouragement and hatred is triggered. So the quality of decision one will make is affected by how a person is feeling.
