University Football on the Rise ⚽🔥
Where Passion Meets Purpose
University football is no longer just about playing it’s about structure, growth, and legacy. Across campuses, leagues are raising the standard and shaping the future.
✅️CBU Premier League
Established in 2019 created by a group dedicated students, the CBU Premier League has grown into a respected university competition despite early challenges caused by closures. The first full season was successfully completed in 2021, marking a major milestone. The league has seen:
- Growing fan engagement
- Increased team participation
-National recognition from FAZ(football association of Zambia)coaches and players
- Strong female representation in league leadership
With a January season, plus Champions League, Conference League, and mid-season tournaments, competition stays alive all year.
✅️Kwame Nkrumah University League
Launched in 2024, featuring 10 teams and two competitions:
- KNU Premier League
- KNU Champions League
Both competitions were created by Manasseh Mbewe, with a vision to promote structured competition, consistency, and talent development within the university.
✅️Mulungushi University Premier League
Established in 2022 by Demba Ba, now running a full academic-year season:
- 14 teams competing
- 26 games per team
- Supported by student and external sponsors
- Guided by MUFA to ensure fairness and growth
Since its establishment, the league has shown continuous improvement each academic year, driven by the efforts of the Mulungushi University Football Association (MUFA), which works to ensure the league remains fair, competitive, and well-structured.
⚽ From campus pitches to national recognition, the game is changing. And the future of football is being built right here in these universities.
