ZAMBIA OUT TO FINISH STRONGLY
It has been a bumpy ride for the Grant drilled boys on the road to the 2026 world cup but the boys are now out to wind up a dusty journey with some respect.
The Chipolopolo boys will this afternoon host Niger in the final match of the world cup qualifiers ath Levy Mwanawasa stadium.
Zambia three days ago beat Tanzania in Tanzania to collect their first win of the campaign and now the boys host Niger who are looking for a win to improve their chances of clinching a best loser slot.
Zambia is mathematically out of contention and will use this maych to set a positive tone for the preparations of the Africa cup of Nations coming in Morocco this December.
The best loser pecking order table below confirms Zambia has no chance but Grant is set to name strong team to play Niger this after noon.

Nine-Goal Thriller in Thailand
The Zambia Futsal National Team gave it everything but narrowly lost 5-4 to Saudi Arabia at the Continental Futsal Championship 2025 in Bangkok.
Goals from Royd Chishala (2), Wiseman Phiri, and Patrick Banda highlighted a much-improved display after a tough 4-0 opener against Belarus.
Next up is the final Group B clash against Australia on 31 July.
Zambia’s futsal journey started in 2008, and while the team hasn’t made a World Cup appearance yet, there have been major milestones — including a 4th place finish at AFCON 2016 and big wins against Angola and Costa Rica.
Our biggest defeat came against Morocco earlier this year, but this team continues to grow, gaining valuable experience on the international stage.
