FUN FACT: I USED TO SELL

During my Uni days, I used to sell Seba’s Instant Thobwa just to survive. Me and this product go WAY back.

This was the actual ad I designed and stuck on my room door and hostel notice boards. If you wanted instant thobwa, you knew where to go. And if you wanted to check your weight too? I had you covered

Yes… I even offered BODY WEIGHING services as part of the combo package. K2.5 for Thobwa + weighing. Student entrepreneurship at its finest.

Looking back now, it’s funny… but at the time it was real survival mode.

That season honestly shaped me. It taught me that there’s no shame in starting small when you’re trying to build yourself.

When it comes to hustling, trust me… I know that path well 🤝

WHY MOST WOMEN NATURALLY HAVE BIGGER CALVES THAN MEN 🦵

If you look around, you’ll notice that many women have big calves even if they’ve never stepped foot in a gym. Meanwhile, some men ( me included) train legs consistently and still struggle to grow theirs. So what’s going on?

Here’s why:

• DAILY ACTIVITY MATTERS
Women often wear footwear like heels or sandals that can place more constant tension on the calf muscles over time. Walking patterns and posture can also activate the calves more throughout the day.

• HIGHER BODY FAT DISTRIBUTION IN THE LOWER BODY
Women naturally store more fat around the hips, thighs, and legs due to hormones like estrogen. This can make the lower legs appear fuller and more developed.

• CALVES ARE ENDURANCE MUSCLES
The calf muscles are used every single day for walking, standing, climbing stairs, and balancing. Some people naturally recruit these muscles more efficiently than others.

• MUSCLE INSERTIONS AND SHAPE
Some people have shorter calf muscles with longer tendons, while others have fuller muscle bellies. This greatly affects how “big” or aesthetic the calves look naturally.

• WOMEN OFTEN CARRY MORE LOWER-BODY DOMINANCE
Biomechanically, many women tend to have stronger or more active lower-body musculature compared to upper body, which contributes to naturally developed legs and calves.

At the end of the day, calf size isn’t only about training hard in the gym…
